I wish I had a PS3.

But I like my Wii a lot.  I like that I am kind of sort of getting some exercise while playing video games.

Just made the conversion from XBOX360 to PS3 (more people seem to have it here, thus more networking). Unfortunately, the DAY I get it the PSN goes down. Now I'm all alone playing Fallout New Vegas until the network comes back up and I can make some friends (and download some sweet content!)

Who's ready for BIOSHOCK: INFINITE!?!?!  :P

On a PS3 tip...

I'm addicted to Final Fantasy 3 for iPhone / iPad at the moment. I feel ridiculous, I'm a grown man. But it's just so addictive!!

How much did it cost you?

£10  for iPad.  Bit pricey, I think the iPhone version is probably cheaper.

What do you think about Fallout New Vegas? I loved the Fallout series and FO3 was amazing, but I couldn't really get into New Vegas.

Get an HDMI Cable. Most new TVs have HDMI support. It is becoming/has become the industry standard. If you are using a new TV set here then use HDMI. If you are using an older TV then buy an old style A/V cable then later buy an new TV and an HDMI cable.

Hey man,

I suggest getting an HD tv and an HDMI cable. I have a RGB PS3 cable here lying around if you want to borrow it, but I would like it back when you find a solution to your problem. Otherwise buy one of those here. Where are based?

You can buy games here and they all should work, but some are in English and some arent. Also, look for games being sold on here and on craigslist seoul. Play-asia is also a good website to look into. Most Emarts have games and Lotte too.

I'm so far behind in a lot of games I purchased in the last year T_T But I intend to go online with the recent release of Mortal Kombat. Sure is fun, but the debacle of the Playstation network being down for almost 3 weeks due to hackers has prevented me from playing online. But hey, once it goes back up, we get free things for a month.

To any other Battlefield bad company 2 players, have you unlocked the extra maps?

I bought the game second hand so I don't have the code that came with the game. I tried purchasing the code online but it won't work. Apparently you have to have your psn id set to the same region as the game so you can purchase the correct regional codes. 16 bucks down the drain.

My plan (once the psn is back up) is to create a new id with Korea as the region. Then hopefully I can shop in the Korean PlayStation online store and unlock the maps.

Anybody else had to do this?

Someone said it to me before and I looked into it later. It is hard to get a Korean PSN. Seems you need a Korean resident ID or something along that lines. I really wasn't too worried about it, since I don't have any games with Korean regional I download things on. Black Ops is the only one and I don't plan on downloading anything for it anyway. I buy the games with DLC from playasia.com, shipped from home or from other waygookers.

No news on the PSN coming back up? I checked it the other day. It's been down for what, a few weeks?

Hey I just arrived in Korea.  Actually almost missed my last connection out of San Francisco due to the security checkpoint disassembling the carryon with my PS3 and small HD screen in it  ??? ... too many wires, I guess.  So I hear I would need to get an up-converter transformer to run my PS3 safely here without bricking it, right?  I'm wary to even set it up before I acquire one...

Hey mate,

PS3s have universal power supply. You don't need any converters just a plug adapter that you can buy from most electronics stores I would think.

If yours is the Phat PS3, just buy a new PC power cable from any PC parts store. Mine was 5000Won. Also, I second this. The PS3 has a built in converter so you need not to worry about the step up/step down converter - your PS3 will be safe.

Ah, right on.  I'm just a bit cautious b/c the HD monitor says "120-240v", as does my MacBook Pro, yet the PS3 (slim) says 120v~2.1A, 60Hz.

Thanks for the info y'all.

Yeah, your mac should be cool here too (I also have a mac/ps3 combo :P). As far as i know, all ps3's are 120-220v...

I just checked my PS3 (bought in South Africa so its 220v), it only has the 220v reading on it. So I guess its just printed according to its region, but it should handle everything.

Hope that helps you to boost your confidence when plugging it in for the first time... :)
