Getting hyped for L.A Noire, North American release date is tomorrow May 17th and it's pay-day!

I'm going to be checking my local store on the way home from school, hope it lands in Korea asap.

Rease day outside USA is the 20th, if they even get it here. I just ordered it online for 58,000₩ and should be here in the next day or two.

As for the psn, i could update my ps3 and games, but i cant log on still.

Free copy? Is that part of the "premium content" they are giving to those with account due to the downtime?

Nice! Thanks for the post. I would love to have Little Big Planet. I beat Infamous ages ago, but free is always nice lol. I hope Ratchet and Clank become free for US. I loved those games for the PS2.

My local shop has the posters for it all over the shopfront, so I'm hoping that means they're actually getting it...

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/05/16/details-for-playstation-network-and-qriocity-customer-appreciation-program-in-north-america/

The freebies for the US network are a choice of two of the following:

All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.
Dead Nation
inFAMOUS
LittleBigPlanet
Super Stardust HD
Wipeout HD + Fury

I think it'll be Dead Nation and inFamous for me :). If I can ever log on.

i didn't see if anyone had confirmed, but is PSN up here yet? Like some of you, i've updated the firmware on my american ps3 but i get the PSN is down for maintenance message when i try to log in/change password. anyone know the skinny on this yet?

also...i've been wondering (i'm a bit of a newbie here in korea, only here for 3 months), is there anywhere that I can check what the english status of a game is here?

what i mean is if i want to pick up a game like Socom 4 or Killzone 3, is there any way i can find out how much english/korean has been changed in the process of bringing the game here to the ROK?

@koreanlostinkorea

If you search around on this thread there is info on how to check the language of a game by rooting out the info on the back of the box, I remember someone posting the Korean so just jot it down and search for that on the case it'll be written next to a picture of a disc for game and a book for manual. If you can't figure it out I just used to show it to the guy in the shop and say Languageee?

Also we have a big list on here somewhere of games that are definitely in English, so feel free to add any that you buy.

This thread is 11 pages in and still going strong, high fives all round for the PS3!

 >:( God PSN asia is still down. I have read around that Sony Japan is waiting for the OK to turn PSN on from other Asian country governments due to the Hack etc. I bet it still wont be on when I fin work in two hours.

Glad I haven't played the games on offer for the Welcome back package.

On the upside (if your looking to buy it) Homefront is 29,000KRW (US US$ 22.90) on playasia this week only. It maybe a members only offer but check to see. Note: it is the asian version. So not sure if its Hong Kong version or what. Anyway check it out.

I checked with my store about LA Noire and they said they'll have it on Friday.

Been reading some stuff about Playstation network  for Asia seems unlikely we'll get full service until the end of them month. And our welcome back package is going to be tailored to the Japanese market so our free games will probably be cutesy RPG's and puzzle games :( instead of infamous and dead nation.

29,000 won is too much for that game. It is rather fail.

Is the Korean LA Noire going to be in English with a Korean booklet?

It depends on what region your PSN account is for downloading the packages. It is no different than DLC for Asian games. I can't download DLC for my Korean game on my USA PSN account. But I can download DLC for my USA Mass Effect 2, because it is a USA region game on a USA PSN account. If you have an existing PSN account, you can only get that regions packages to download. I have a USA PSN account, so I can download the American PSN welcome back packages. I am not stuck with the Japanese crap.

That's what I figured as well.  However, thanks for reminding me to check my Japanese and Singapore accounts for my cutesy rpg and puzzle games.  A free game is still a free game.  :P

PSN is still down.  Anyone have any idea when it is supposed to be back.  I got a software update 2 days ago that I thought meant things were back to normal, but after the update it still said down for maintenance.

i was going to say, i thought dlc/welcome back stuff was tied to your psn account not where your current location was.

also, where are some of you located? i'm in daejeon and we don't really have any video game stores....at least that i've seen. so that means no where to ask about LA Noire =(
