Thank goodness I don't have to work with a book. The themes are awkward and some of the tasks are mundane! I have the freedom to do what I want with my learners although sometimes you don't know where to start. I have used some of the better themes in some books just to get lesson outlines.

Grade 1 Talk Together activities for chapters 1-5. My first grade classes are mixed so I tried to aim for the middle with these activities.

-Grade 1 Lesson 1 Dialogue Halves
-Grade 1 Lesson 2 Running Dictation
-Grade 1 Lesson 3 Yugioh Bomb Game
-Grade 1 Lesson 4 Speed Row Dialogues (It's a few slides down in the powerpoint)
-Grade 1 Lesson 5 Speed Game

a presentation for the first 2 activities in lesson 7: a necklace in the grass. Also included a clapgame to help drill the vocab. This is meant to be done with the listening and talking exercises (a+b)

here's my PPT on our dreams lesson 9, i basically stuck to the book on this and borrowed a few phrases here and there... its really tough coming up with something with so little.

To get ideas for my grade 3 lessons, I started scouring the forums for other books... I think this celebrity intro game might be a fun alternative for the first "talk together" activity in Lesson 1. I'm going to try to tailor it to the lesson for our book and repost, but here's the original:
