...when the public school you've worked at for four years won't renew your contract because you're bald.

seriously?

Yup! -

"... you are old, bald and serious teacher."  ::)

Fine. I'm 54, bald and a serious teacher (and also at the top of the PS pay scale) - get rid of me and hire a freshly minted 'dancing monkey'!

My K-ontract ends August 25 and I have a new contract to teach high school in China starting September 1.

Are you with EPIK, GPIK or SMOE?  I think this is such an insult, unbelievable !!!!
Everything is not as it seems.

Giving students toilet rolls as prizes at the school festival isn't a gag.

You dress up and walk around in public and people think you are a Mormon instead of a teacher.
You just reminded me of something that happened to my Korean friend.  He was so happy because a pilot stopped to talk to him on the street and offered him free English lessons.  He thought the guy was a pilot because of the way he was dressed, but I had a strong suspicion the guy was really a Mormon.
Turns out I was correct.

LOL... and you don't think twice about a roll of toilet paper on the table from which you're eating.

there's fresh kimchi-colored spit on the floor of the elevator to greet you in the morning every day.

doors open and no one can get in or out of the subway.

ruffles, sheer fabric and skin-tight jeans are considered fashionable for men.

old women make you tremble but the armed forces make you giggle.

I agree that it's insane in any real sense.  But in a country where image is so important, young men have no balls (how could a chick possibly get a date if she doesn't have her arse hanging out of her shorts/skirt) and perverted older men can sexually assault younger women/girls without repercussions...
It might not be such a horrible idea.
