Picture quiz: Real or fake
« on: November 19, 2012, 08:36:47 PM »
I made this game for a lesson on lying and made-up stories. I also really wanted to use the new "X or O" boards we've got. Pretty simple: Is it photoshop or not?

I'll be using this for my after school girls today. I added in a few photo shopped celebrities as well. I had done a beauty lesson previously, so I'm hoping they catch on. They also get bored from PPTs easily, even if it's a game, so we'll see how this goes!

I'm still thinking on how to incorporate some action into this. They love to move and act. Maybe instead of four squares we'll do two squares. I don't have X and O boards as far as  I know.

Absolutely loved this lesson.  It was so much fun.

For my class I added an extra incentive.  My class is divided into groups and so I gave each team 100points and told them they had to bet on each picture.  They were given two flashcards, one saying 'FAKE' and the other 'REAL'.  If they got it correct got the amount they bet on it, if not they lost it.

I've used it on low-level, high-level, 1st, 2nd and 3rd and it has been fantastic...
I have added the FAKE REAL documents to this thread...

Great fun!

Great lesson. Where did you find the photos? I'd like to hear the backstory behind some of them in case students inquire.

great idea thank you!  Ill be using this with my after school club. I will use white boards and try the 100 point wager system.
If we have extra time I will play the 2 truths and 1 lie game just to have them practice some speaking.

Thanks again for the ppt. and for the suggestions.

I changed the OP's a little and got some background info on most of the pics.

I would like to hear this as well.

I didn't plan a lesson around this ppt but instead used it as a time killer since my lesson ran short this week. The students loved just shouting what they thought it was -- and we'd talk about the pictures afterwards. I'd have loved to be able to give more of a story behind the real pictures though.
