Grade 3 Lesson 2 - This is my friend , Suho
« on: March 17, 2011, 08:22:30 am »
Practice key phrases ppt.  At the end of the ppt , I have kids  write their name on a name tag and they go around the room introducing each other.

Note: Please check ppt before using.

Thank you!!!

Do you happen to have the Teacher's Guide in English? My rural school doesn't have a copy for me and I am stuffed for tomorrow's lesson, it's very different from what I'm teaching at my main school... eek!

Here is Pass the Ball game for this lesson.

Students have to introduce themselves "Hi I'm Min-ji, this is my friend Mickey Mouse."

I know many of you may be teaching or have already taught this period but here's what a PPT that I made for Lesson 2 (second period).  It's just fill in the blank dialog with Finding Nemo characters.

Just a cute song my Grade 3s now love. We have been singing it for a couple of lessons and they've got it memorized. As do I.

How does this game work? I'm not sure if it is my version of ppt that is causing the problem but I don't see an actual game, I just see slides.

I just had a quick question...
Without using Korean, how can I explain to kids this vs that?
I tried holding an eraser saying "This is my eraser" and then putting it on a students desk and walking away then saying "That is my eraser." but the kids still seem confused.
Thanks!

Here is a powerpoint I used to get my students speaking. I introduced a family, gave them five seconds to memorize and then went to the "Ready?" slide. Students had to answer "This is his ____." I did not accept "This is my ____," because I wanted the students to get used to using other pronouns.

Check out www.prezi.com which will tie in with the top half of the attached Word doc.  This is an easy to use media presentation site which can make your content much more interesting than Power Point.  The content posted is a simple way in which the 3rd grade students can practice identifying their family members by saying, This is my mother, NAME. etc.

I played a fun game where each student was given a card with a cartoon on it. They then had to go around the room asking each other "what's your name?" untill they found there partner. Partners were cartoons like Micky and Mini Mouse, or Eve and Wall-E. It would help if you have your co write the names of the characters in Korean on the cards.

Hey, sorry I didn't see this earlier...! What version of powerpoint do you have? It's a Mario Blast game and it should let you click on the mushrooms which lead you to questions. After the answer pops up, a certain number of points will come up too. I opened it on my mac at home and used it on a PC in the classroom. Wish I could be more help! :-/

Here's a Open Office powerpoint I made (opens on Open Office) to explain this/that and to get them to practice the key phrases in this unit. It's good for 1st and 2nd period or just as a review.

Here is the lesson i did, with the video to warm up at the start. They really found the genkie monkey funny, so it's good to get students giggling a little. The game I did at the end was with the stars from the textbook, but you can easily use normal bits of coloured card or something.
