I was wondering if someone could clarify this for me.

The instructions say to includea minimum of 1 piece of idendification showing my name, current home address and signature.

The 2 problems I have are...

1) By current home address - are they refering to my Canadian address or my Korean address.  (On the Application form they refer to my Korean address as "present mailing address" and my Canadian address as "Address of ordinary residence."

This is fantastic, as neither one is, "current home address."

2) My Korean address ID is written in Hangul, and the only Canadian address I have is my Ontario drivers license that expired last month.

any suggestions?

I think you are using the wrong form. You are not an ordinary resident. Try this form, it doesnt ask for proof of address, just identity.

Just a friendly reminder to all the Canadians out there - two weeks until election day! Get your ballots in! If they aren't in Ottawa by 6pm local time on May 2nd, you don't get a say. I know I'm ready to give Harper the boot...

Is voting going to effect my taxes? I.e. I called the CRA and told them my date of departure and will not be back in Canada this year and as such don't have to file taxes for the 2011 year - because I don't own property, etc linking me to Canada. If I vote, will I be linked and then have to file taxes for the 2011 year?

Is that accurate? my understanding is that canadians are required to declare all income (international and domestic) and then pay income tax.

I really wish I could care about this election, but the more I see in the news, the more I hate everyone involved. Maybe if I were still at home and voting was just a matter of a 5 minute walk to the polling station I would do it. However, I neither like nor trust Harper and Ignatieff. I don't think either of them make/would make good prime ministers. In fact I am hard pressed to think of anyone in Parliament that I would trust enough to vote for. A pox on all their houses (and the House and Senate for that matter). None of them are worth the $2 my vote gets them.

yes, if you declare non-residency, you won't have to pay.

i believe the rule is if you're away from canada for more than five years, you become ineligible to vote.

Go to the CRA website.  Under Leaving Canada (emigrants) - "After you leave Canada, you pay tax to Canada only on income you receive from sources in Canada (see "After you leave Canada")."
