This "Head-band" game was a big success is my grade 4 class for our lesson "Who is He?"
Make sure to print out picture of different family members and make a head-band and you should be good to go!  :)

I have included a vocabulary ppt (incl. spelling), a 1st and 2nd period wrap up, as well as a 2nd period review. Hopefully you can use these for the 2012 school year.

another family related song/video.  It's good in that it goes over the family vocab, repeatedly uses the phrase "This is my ___", and it's pretty catchy.  My worry is that some parts may be a little bit difficult.

I liked the running dictation idea that was posted earlier.  I added the papers that i plan to hang around the room to the original WS doc.  I went with having a really big number and then the sentences fairly small.  My thinking was that this would discourage them from reading the sentences from their seat, while making it easier to find the correct number.  I also plan on numbering the groups 1-12 and having them start at that sentence, to limit the number of people crowded around a single piece of paper.

WARNING

I have not taught or actually printed this yet so adjustments may need to be made to the size of the sentences.

Introduction with animations "who is he -> he's my brother" for whole family plus "who is he -> he is handsome/pretty" also there are scans from the book with included speech bubbles for the class to read as dialogue.
