Samcheok, Penis Park, Beaches and Caves

Hey everyone!

Anyone have any ideas on where to stay for a trip to Penis Park and the caves near Samcheok?  I was going to splurge and stay at Hotel Palace, but they're booked.  Lonely Planet only has two recommendations.....I need some more!

Urgh we had a nightmare finding anywhere at a reasonable price in samcheok, eventually we found a place need the bus station for 50 000 but almost everywhere else wanted 60 000. I'd say just look around the bus station and keep asking, I can't remember what the place we found is was called.

Yeah I went to Samcheok last year and we all stayed in a love motel.  It was beside the bus station and the man was so shocked by 5 foreign girls that we haggled the price to maybe 45,000 per room (we ended up taking two).

If you can't find anything right next to the bus station, cross the road and go down one of the side streets/alleys, there are a number of motels there. If you don't care about the quality there are some clean (but shoddy) ones there for about 25K, maybe 35K.

Remember that it's 40 mins each way to Samcheok and the Caves so if you're doing both in one day it can be quite tiring. And I recommend getting off at the TOP of the hill and walking down through Penis Park.
