Ok I am in Gyeongsang Nam-do but I am having problems with my Gun, or COUNTY, Geochang-Gun.  Can you tell me what Gun you were dealing with for reference when I go back to the education office?

So I might have lost out a bit, since I lost out on renewal bonus of 2 mil, so in effect I got about 700 000 less, but it's only fair, otherwise we'd all be changing provinces every year :)

Wasn't it 400k less, rather than 700k? Because the new contracts also state that people not getting exit/entrance allowances when switching provinces DO however get a 300k settlement allowance, which you obviously wouldn't have got for renewing with the same province.

If you didn't get that 300k however, I'd be careful about shouting too loud about it. Because the contract clause mentioning that you should get it also states clearly that you don't get an entrance allowance, nor an exit allowance either.

Incidentally, something else with financial implications that's spelled out on the new contracts for people switching provinces is that you can't claim any continuity of employment and are treated as a newly hired employee. In other words, your pay level will be based on your entry qualifications only. If you had two years with the previous province that would've put you up to a Level 1+, for example, then unfortunately you've lost that and are back to scratch. Rather unfair, I think, but it is spelled out clearly enough.

Aah yes sorry, minus the 300k which I did get.  But I disagree somewhat with your statement about the pay level... I was level 2 last year and I'm now 2+ because I could give them proof of my 1 year teaching experience.  I agree that you "miss out" on the part where you get bumped up for renewing within the same POE, but for me it was fine, because the "one year teaching experience" made up for that.  I had no idea - the POE actually asked me for proof of 1 year teaching and then changed my level to 2+.

It was EPIK who paid us our entrance allowance, not our schools. I'm in Daegu if that helps^^

Sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear but that's what I meant.
