Needing Ideas - Teacher's Class
sassneggs:
Hello. I have been informed that I must come up with a good Teachers class for about 6 teachers. Level is very low.
What do you suggest?
injuredeagle:
Taken directly from my lesson plan:
Making introductions; saying hello and good-bye; asking and answering questions; having short conversation; PLUS asking what teachers would like to learn.
Socializing; making friends; exchanging personal information; talking about plans; making invitations; accepting and refusing invitations; giving reasons; taking and leaving messages
Describing appearances; describing different characteristics in people; identifying people
Travel; asking about and describing locations of places; using English in a hotel or on the flight; asking for directions; English addresses
Sports and Entertainment; discussing different sports and athletes; talking about abilities; celebrities
Looking at different cultures; describing countries; making comparisons; discussing cultural differences; expressing opinions
Expressing yourself; showing emotions
Classroom English, objects in the classroom; phrases to use with students
open...
Talking about families and family members; exchanging information; describing family life; describing your childhood; exchanging information about past experiences and events
Current Events and the media
Idioms? Expressions? Slang?

Hey there! Thank you so much for the ideas. They are great....and I plan to use a bunch of them! Thanks for posting and taking the time to write. :)

I say look at this thread http://waygook.org/index.php/topic,4081.0.html and enjoy what has already been laid out.
I'm beginning a teacher's class myself from Thursday and I'm excited to use this material.

I posted a collection of dialogues in the University section. I used them with adults last year - it's a good way from them to practice speaking without having to come up with things to say giving opinions all the time. There are loads and from many different situations.
