Leo Fuchigama has a couple videos of Konglish jokes. Some of them have already been posted, but there are several that haven't.

I've used quite a few of these over the past half-year for warm-ups and most of the students enjoy it.  One class was even disappointed when I didn't have one for that week!  I combine one of these jokes/riddles with a few compound word riddles.  Works really well.

How did I miss this fun and ridiculous thread before? Thanks for sharing the laughter!  I might have to try a few of these with my students if they need a break from my standard tongue twister warm-up activity sometimes.

I am from Vancouver, Canada, and we have the 2nd biggest Chinatown in North America (San Fran being first), I had a class where I was introducing my class to Vancouver. And I told them about this fact, then after I asked them do you know where the largest Chinatown in the world is. Some of the smart ones gets it, but they get a good laugh when I tell them the answer (or other students say the answer)

I don't know which city to be exact, but they all get that it's in China

not jokes but whenever i play hangman with the students the letters that sound like words I act like they said the word and act confused. like if they guess U, i say "Me??"  and look really confused. If they guess Y, I say because. it is corny but i like to have them think about my reaction and what they said.

Also if one of my  students says "I'm hungry." I follow it with "Nice to meet you hungry,  I'm ...."  again corny I know but some students get it and laugh and have to explain it to the others.

this is my favorite corny joke: A horse walks into a bar and the bartender says why the long face.
I was stoked to see that phrase in one of the textbooks this year.

Usually I don't tell jokes.  So when I visited my high school's band club meeting to thank them for playing for my song in the school festival, I tried out one of my favorite jokes.  Actually, maybe it's not all THAT corny.

They asked me if I had a car and I said no, "But wait, I actually do! BMW!" Their eyes got huge.  "Teacher, really?" I nodded seriously.  "Yes.  Bus, Metro, Walking. BMW." They blinked, thought, and *roared* with laughter. "Teacher, hahaha! I love it!!!"

 :cheesy:

So seh gwi (sausage)

In Korean, a cow is "so", a bird is "seh", and a mouse is "gwi".

Minor correction: mouse = "jwi" (쥐)
Yeah, my students groaned in pained exasperation at this one as well. Good stuff, keep 'em coming!

Why did the man throw butter out the window?
-- He wanted to see a butterfly.

Also, here is a ppt I used to tell and explain the lion/giraffe joke from 28 Days Later. (Don't worry, it is a sleeping giraffe, not a dead one.)

I felt sorry for myself because I had no shoes-- until I met a man with no feet.
