this site is wonderful and everyone should give some won...

I disagree. I have downloaded material here on occasion. And the majority is just a poorly made PPT games.

I've come to the point where I can't use PPT games in my class. It feels cheap and useless. People, just make your own materials, please. It's not hard. Expand your methods. Try new things.

I'm more interested in ideas. I'm not paying for ideas or copies of things downloaded from other sites.

I have this issue with some of my coworkers that just download things from Indieschool also.

Sites like this will not help you in the long run, only hinder your own creativity.

Break free!

I beg to differ, but we're all entitled to our opinions.

I mean, I can see your point, but I feel the best stuff on here are the hidden gems in the forms of templates, frameworks or general resources. These are the types of tools that can help you better make your own resources. If you dig around, there's a wealth of material that fits your needs. I've seen:
* Blank game worksheet templates (ready to be freshly filled in with this year's TL, not last years; I share your indieschool pain some days)
* Themed PPT game templates
* Textbook image repositories (nicked from the books lacking adequate CDs so you don't have to re-scan them yourself)
* English-language translations of teacher's guides
* Flashcards
* Fonts
* Resource-making tutorials

i think its okay. i dont think it should be paid or posted. but some site maintence is always needed etc. and contributions and sharing is ecnouraged and is necessary is many respects.  i understand that.. but i dont know if there is another way to ensure such regulation.   if there is an alternative, i think it should be taken in to consideration, at least looked at and discussed,.

Poorly made PPT games?  Certainly not where I am looking.

Office 2010 users, save my games as .PPTM to get them functioning correctly

I get what Paul says. There are some average ppts on this site.

The best lessons and resources are hidden. The trick I use to find them is to look for the threads with tons of responses. It's usually people saying stuff like "thanks so much" and "you saved my ass." Those tend to have the better material. Maybe you could do a search of whatever it is that interests you and you might hit upon something.

The thing I have to do above all though is to avoid the chat style side of this forum. Although fun, it's very time wasting.

Hi there. Great site, great resources.

I have posted 6 times and am still unable to download anything. I've tried simply clicking a file and right click, save target as with no results. It seems to just refresh the page. Is there anything that indicates my posts have been registered and I have the ok to download? Any help would be greatly aprreciated. Thanks!  :)

How to save the files!!
« Reply #392 on: June 09, 2011, 02:52:11 pm »
Hello, How are you?
I like this website. Becuase I can share many ideas and files at this website.
By the way, I can't download any files.
Frankly speaking, I paid  $10.00 to join this website last night.
However, I can't downlad them yet.
How can I solve my problem? Please help me as soon as possible.
I'll wait!!

I personally find lesson planning hard and don't mind paying 10 dollars for a year though as others have said the electronic transfer makes things complex.  Have you considered online advertising to support the site?

I thought this site is too useful site for us to download files free . I agree with your ideas, but I am not sure how can I pay for it.
So I chose to post some lesson plans and ideas. Thanks.
