Has anyone else been asked to focus on explaining the modal auxiliary verbs? They're only in the book in one activity book exercise, but my coteacher wants me to introduce that grammar concept in a simple way. I think my A kids will be fine, but I'm worried about how to get my B kids involved and understanding the concepts. Any advice would be much appreciated!
This is what I came up with for my A class kiddos, and so far they're doing well because they were introduced to the topic last week by my co-teacher. I'm still worried about how to modify for my B kids.
We've been reviewing those 5 auxiliary verbs (I've been trying to toss a couple of their harder vocabulary words into the A class explanations, so for words like "polite" and "possibility" I've been saying, "What is 'polite?'" And my co-teacher and I will get one of the students to explain.) with the powerpoint, then doing the worksheet individually and going over it as a class. Lastly, we've been playing this Gangnam Style themed game.
