Grab Ss background knowledge and preteach vocab items that would appear.

So kids really liked Simon Says. Here's the powerpoint that would go with it. The kids had to guess the verb by looking at the picture and then the words show but if your kids are lower level, then just modify the ppt. We went over the actions and had them practice before playing the game. Since they get really active, I would pause a little after I say "simon says" so they will be quiet enough to listen.

This is the yellow book with real heads of children with cartoon bodies. I took a Mario Game from another thread and changed the questions to fit the key sentences for this particular book.

I have included a vocabulary ppt (incl. spelling), plus a 1st period wrap up, a 2nd period review, and a whispering and spelling game. Hopefully you can use these for the 2012 school year.
