PPP vs TTT
« on: September 14, 2011, 12:00:23 AM »
Which do people prefer and why?

Personally I prefer the Test Teach Test method of lesson planning as opposed to Presentation Practice Production. In my opinion, TTT gets the students involved straight away whereas PPP often involves the teacher talking at the students more which can lead to minds going astray. I also think that TTT allows more opportunities for monitoring, feedback and gauging student levels within the class.

Anyone else dig? Or do you think I'm wide of the mark?

Practise/produce/test are all merged in my classroom as they won't do anything without constant prompting. So whenever they are talking English (I normally structure the lecture so they talk a lot but only one at a time.....it's not the best strategy but it seems to work given the situation) I am usually listening to it so I can evaluate progress.
