Hi everyone!

I would really appreciate any information about any field hockey clubs in Korea.
I am an avid player and I am dying to start playing again.
Thanks! ;)

Hi!

I'm also interested to know if there are any.  The sport doesn't seem big here but you never know.  I am missing playing a team sport.

I know what you mean, I love the game and used to eat and sleep hockey. I have tried to look for some clubs here, with no luck, surprising as Korea is top 10 in the world for field hockey.
Team sports are the best! ;)

I'm also a big fan of the sport. At my school we have an astro soccer field and the kids use that to also play field hockey on. It's not really a club on its own but they do play on weekends and I guess its open to anybody if they feel like it.

There's a pretty popular ball hockey league here. It's more like ice hockey than field hockey though. Uses regular sized sticks and there are no skirts. You wouldn't be able to join a team until about next September unfortunately....

I`ve recently came across the korea hockey associations website. It`s all in Korean! I`m going to ask my korean teacher if there is contact details and is she can e-mail them and ask about clubs. I`m in daegu and really hoping that there is a club nearby! Will keep you all updated!

You could start your own up! Facebook is pretty useful in setting up teams and events.

if anyone would like to meet up for a game or something please keep in touch, unfortunately i did not bring my equipment with me, so if there's any word on where to pick up a stick, and balls please let me know...

@ dtopkin

That field looks great, wonder how we can organize to have a practice or game there. I asked my PE teacher at school and he said that in most cases its difficult to buy a loose hockey stick, normally schools will order in bulk. Would love to do a Saturday - training/game day seeing as I live 1.5hours from Daegu. Will try and find out about the gear.

Can we maybe get an idea of how many people would be interested in joining a Saturday training/fun type thing in Daegu.

I would also be interested in a game on occasional Saturdays (I am about 1 hour from Daegu) but also I didn't bring my stick with me.

Yea I'd be up for some. Got no stick though. I'm sure we'll find some. Think there's any Korean team we could play with/against in Daegu?

I don't live there anymore but there is still weekly (Saturday) games in Ilsan in between Juyeop and Jeongbalsan station.  Contact me if you live in that area and I'll put you in touch some of my friends.

Hey ladies and gents, I'm in Pohang and am very interested in jamming, coming to Daegu is not a problem... If I can get a group of 10 together in Pohang who want to play and we can get some Busan and Daejon peeps together we can play 7-aside tournaments every second weekend or so in Daegu as this is central to us all... I've started an FB "Field Hockey in South Korea" (that's what it's called) interest group, if enough people ask to join this then we can use that page to co-ordinate everything... thoughts??? (If you aren't on FB and want to join in the fun send a message to my gmail account. m.atkins13@gmail.com...)

Wow! Great responses guys!

We should really get this started, I don't have my kit here though :-[. I live about 1h30min away from Daegu, which is not a problem!
A, 7 a side tourney would be perfect! I'm so happy with all the responses!!!
The turf in Daegu looks good, it would be awesome to play there!
Getting people from Pohang and Daejon would help with filling teams.

What's the next step, any suggestions? ;D

Are there any teams in the Daejeon area or Cheongju area? I am keen to join. Men's league of course...
