Someone posted a PPT earlier in the thread which was about Scooby Doo. I used that PPT in my class and then gave the sts this worksheet to reinforce the TL. It's a sentence scramble and took them about 5/10 mins.

I  have used the fantastic Super Mario Game and  adapted  it  for Grade 5 Lesson 3 :It's under the table.

I'm still a Waygook.org "newbie", so I can't see the Mario Game that you've attached, but here's one I have.  Hope it's not the same one.

Hey,

Great Ppts, thanks guys! I've been trying to keep my students on their toes during the lesson by taking some of their personal possessions and hiding them around the classroom. They didn't think it was funny at first but now they seem to enjoy the treasure hunt for the review at the end of each lesson. I'm thinking of making a Where's Wally (Waldo) ppt for the future as the kids go nuts for his wee red and white hat!

Thank you!!!!

Andrew

Here's the listening test that my co-teacher and I gave our students for Lesson 3.  I would simply read a sentence aloud such as:  "The cat is under the desk" and students would write the number "3" in the box underneath the desk.  I think it was too easy for them, but it was good practice.

This is a memory game for prepositions.  My co-teacher made it 2 years ago and I changed it a bit to suit our current lesson needs better.
I use this story to combine prepositions and numbers.

5th Grade lesson 3 (It's under the table.)
« Reply #356 on: April 28, 2011, 11:28:11 PM »
Attached are two ppts:
1.A vocab ppt. Where is the turtle?
2.A ppt game.
Write up a list of the items in the ppt and a list of the possible places marked by question symbols.
next have the kids connect the items to the places they think they are.
Then reveal the items.
The student or group with the most correct win.

If you are lazy just write the items on the board and then have the students quess where they are.
