Re: Full 10 Day Summer Camp Materials- Glee Club (Middle School)

Thank you so much for sharing this with everyone! I am going to use this for my high school girls. I think they will really enjoy it.

I thought I'd share something. The internet connection in our school is unreliable so I downloaded the episodes. I initially thought I'd use VLC player but was unsuccessful with getting the Korean subtitles to work properly. I tried using Gom Player, and the subtitles worked, but then there was no sound as I was missing some codec. Even after downloading the codec, it didn't work. So, I tried KM Player, and everything worked, no problems! Just insert the subtitles as you would for VLC except that it actually works without having to re-configure fonts and such. It took me an entire work day to get to that point so maybe it might save someone else some time.

This is absolutely fantastic. I'm amazed at how much work you put into making all of these things. I am excited to use it for my camp (of 2 kids). I think they'll enjoy it!

Thank you so much!

I can only reiterate what others before me have said regarding these materials: THANK YOU - JOB WELL DONE! Does anyone foresee a problem though in presenting this package to +- 40 very active middle school students at a time without the assistance of a Korean co-teacher?

I haven't seen Glee in the stores in my neighborhood. But why don't you stream it? You can find the whole series on mgoon.com with Korean subtitles.

Or you could ask your school to order the DVDs??  :P

"Roadies"

Well, I feel quite stupid, but thanks for clearing that up for me. I'm going to stick with 'fans' though

I think the material is excellent and I plan on using it, but I'm concerned about the contents of certain episodes as Koreans are far more conservative than waygookin. Can someone give us some feedback on this please?

Hi, I'm showing it now with G2 Middle School Girls, some of them have already seen every episode and love it, I'm not showing episodes which have some unsuitable bits in like episode 2 (the ones left out of the original plans on here). I was also a little worried but I think it's fine.

I teach HS, and I'm doing this with grade 2. I have had no problems at all, and my teachers all watch the show themselves and were totally stoked on the idea of having it be the topic for camp :)

Re: Full 10 Day Summer Camp Materials- Glee Club (Middle School) PPT's
« Reply #72 on: January 10, 2012, 01:38:46 pm »
I fixed this one!!  Day 5, Episode 6 ppt

I have loved using these for winter camp, and my middle grade 2 students have enjoyed it even more than I ever imagined!
Here is the same ppt as before for Day 5, Episode 6, but with the added embedded music video AND following lyrics with blanks, then filled in, for "Fireflies" song. (gorgeous song and video)
Also attached is the lyric sheet doc. to give to students.
Thanks sooo much for an excellent resource!!!!
