Here's the lesson I made for a quick review, introduced new vocab, and played a dice game with the kids using the materials from the back of their textbooks.

I have used the ppt (pass the ball) for my class and students loved the game. This dealt with "how are you?" questions and flash cards. I would hold up a card and once the music stopped whoever had the ball had to give an answer, the class would ask "how are you?". If they didn't make it, then they had to stand in the middle until they had a chance to get back in with another question.

This is a powerpoint to introduce answers to the question, "How are you?" Notice how it excludes "I'm fine." and "I'm so-so." Those answers drive me up the wall. After introduction, we played the snatch games with the answers. You can play a couple different rounds.
Here is a powerpoint I used to teach, "What's your name? My name is _______." After the introduction, we played name bingo. The ppt & document is attached! Hope someone can use it!!

Here's a PPT with the vocabulary based on the drama "Dream High" that was popular earlier this year.

This is the written lesson plan for this chapter. It only contains the book activities, so you can add other things to it.

Hi this is my first upload so hope it works okay.
It is a review worksheet for lessons 1 and 2, Grade 5.
There is a fill in the blanks, circle the right answer and matching activity for lesson 1 (how are you?) and for lesson 2 a group listening activity. I haven't done the lesson yet but think it should work okay  :)

I played a nice simple game using the pics attached for my first lesson on this topic.I printed out the pics attached in color. I then stuck the pics to the blackboard and arranged the students into 6 rows. One team plays at any one time. 1 volunteer is required from a team. This student is the elected pointer. The students have to work against the clock to accumulate as many correct answers as possible. 1 student in a group at a time has to say one of the phrases that goes with the picture. The pointer, using a ruler, points to the picture that matches the feeling expressed by their fellow team member (e.g. I'm happy, I'm hungry etc.). If correct, this is one point. As specified, there is a time limit in place. I will allow each team to play in this fashion 1-2 times. After, I will mix it up by removing the picture from the board as it is said leaving only the unsaid feelings. This means that any one feeling cannot be repeated. The game was a success. Also attached is the PPT showing the feelings that go with the pics.

Grade 5, Lesson 1 - How Are You?

So I know some people end up having to turn in all their lesson plans at the end of the year.  I haven't reinvented the wheel with any of my lesson plans, but they are pretty detailed, and will certainly suffice if you need to turn them in to a supervisor at any point.  I hope someone finds them useful.

How are you bingo game. The kids get ither a smiley  face or sad face before, then they go around and ask each other how they are doing. There response depends on whether they have a smiley face or not.

For this lesson we did the following

Period 1:
vocab, look and listen, listen and repeat, listen and speak, look and speak then played a BINGO game!

Period 2: let's sing, listen and read, let's read and we played a dice game

Period 3: let's write, read and write, let's practice, followed by a pass the ball game

Period 4: story time, activity 2, review and we did the activity in the book. Ss make 3 small posters about something they like, then they show them to the class for the class to guess what it is.
