First time uploading too.

What is your name bingo.

Maybe a good icebreaker?

Instructions: (also in the file)

Instructions:

1.   Go around the class and ask your classmates for their names. (in ENGLISH!).
-   What is your name?
               - My name is ___________.
2.   Put the names in any of the squares.
3.   Keep asking until you fill up the board. (You will need to ask 16 classmates.)
4.   The teacher will call out a number. The student with that number will stand up and answer the teacher’s question. (What is your name?) If you have that name on one of your squares, you can put a marker on there.
5.   Once you have made a line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) on your bingo card, raise your hand and say “BINGO!”

thank you for this! i was looking for something that involved the students names...this helps me out alot!

How can I get my students to use variety in their greetings. No matter what I do, I just get "I'm happy" from them.

Does anyone have some takes on making the bomb game more enticing to younger students?

Hang man really works well for a review with this lesson. I noticed a large difference in how much better my students in one class retained the lesson information than my students in another.

Teachers how are you doing ? How are you all today?

here's a simple song you can dance too with the kids.
I will repeat the song lyrics witht he kids and than teach them the routine very simple, for. e.g
'I'm sad " i will show them my sad face and kids will follow and make a sad face.
etc.

Thank you for the suggestions. I also thought that maybe the kids could mime out how they feel and a group has to shout out the right response first to win.

This year my 5th and 6th graders have similar topics even with the difference in grade level. Both grade levels this year's first lesson is "Where are you from?" so I used basically the same lesson plan for them.

Here is a Dream High 2 PPT I revised from the original Dream High powerpoint posted from last year.
This year Dream High 2 has been a big hit. Especially among the younger crowd.
So far this has brought smiles in all 7 of the grade 5 classes I used it in.
Students practice drills by repeating after the teacher each slide:
"My name is ______." and "Nice to meet you; Nice to meet you too."
as well as "How are you?" and "I'm happy, sad, tired, angry, not so good, etc..."

Enjoy!!

Got this from another teacher and made some changes to include a hangman game that can be played online by 2 teams, and also a puzzle.

my students love hangman, especially when we play boys vs girls. I didnt realize how competative they can get. its great and it really gets the students learning english

I've recently done a quick "How are You?" lesson with my kids. Pictures are smileys from clip art, so the powerpoint is simple but it was effective.
The game at the end was a great way to review speaking and writing.
