I'm pretty sure French Canadians can't teach in Korea. You have to have a certain amount of senior level education in English to qualify as a teacher here in Korea. I think it includes all your high school years and university years in English. I can't remember where I read it, but I'm pretty sure this is the way the Korean government has it set up for French Canadians.
But I would love to be proven wrong.
French Canadians are Canadians with a French background. Doesn't mean they don't speak English / go to schools taught in English. Your comment is just plain ignorance.
Wow, a lot of hostility. Calm down a bit. I'm from Canada myself, and I thought you meant that you wanted to meet French Canadians. Look at what the original poster wrote. He/She wanted to meet French Canadians in Korea. Which would more than likely mean that they were from Quebec, as the majority of French Canadians are from Quebec
(75%).
A French Canadian, as the dictionary defines it is:1.A Canadian whose principal language is French 2.Of or relating to French-speaking Canadians or their language
So what I was merely stating, before your attack of ignorance, is that in order to teach in Korea, as stated by the Korean government, you have to attend an English high school and an English university. I"ve met people here from Quebec that are French speakers, but they went to English high schools and English universities. I wasn't looking down on French Canadians, just stating a fact. So before you throw around personal attacks of ignorance, try to understand what I was saying.
