Here's a song that fits this lesson perfectly.  "A Little Something Refreshing" by No Doubt.  Uses "I'm hungry," "I'm full," and "I want some..."  Then, many types of food, really really fast!

I downloaded two different versions from YouTube (included in the attached zip file), so I could play them in Gom Player.  If you hit Window Key + X, you can slow it down a little bit at a time.  Window Key + Z returns to normal speed.

I played it and asked the students to name what food they saw/heard.  It's probably too fast to actually have them try to sing, but they really enjoyed it.

I also printed out the lyrics so I could check if they said the right food.

Here's the original YouTube links:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nLqLbi8QkQ  (This version has the beginning lyrics and then pictures of the food.  This one works really well for pausing and having the students say the food one at a time.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0usFN87emWE (This one has two cute cartoon characters, who I think come from Pucca.  The students said they are, anyway.)

For the project part (pg. 127), I did an alternate activity. I got some pics of foreign foods from the internet. The kids had to answer with the food name and country (seperate points for each). Eg. I used were hamburger (USA), spaghetti bolognaise (Italy), pizza (Italy), snails (France), sushi (Japan), kimchi (Korea), curry (India), tacos (Mexico).

for part D (pg. 127), I reversed the roles and had them make a dialogue if the thirsty man were the 1st speaker
- eg. A - Can I have some water please? / May I have some water please? / I'm so thirsty, can I have some water please?
B - Sure, here you are. / Yes, you can.

As an opener for this lesson I used this powerpoint that I made about dining etiquette around the world. The kids really liked seeing the different ways that people ate and it's teaching them a bit about other cultures as well

Here's a cartoon that goes well with this lesson, in that it's about food. Tom and Jerry - The Midnight Snack.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeCNINDuKPw

I made a ppt to go with it.  The first time you see a certain kind of food, encourage the students to ask "Do you want some ___?"  Then, if that same food appears again, they should ask "Do you want some more ___?"

Also has a few slides with "a" or "an" and one with "another."

My students really liked this cartoon.  Once again proving my theory: Korean students love Tom and Jerry.

Hello,

I made an activity that is good if your students are somewhat more advanced for their grade level.
It is a role-playing/script-writing activity. It may span over the course of two classes (class 4 and 5 (writing and review)).
The students are shown a powerpoint presentation and given vocabulary and phrases to use (this is after a few class days of learning food vocab). 3 students per group: 1 is a waiter, the other two are customers. The skit may be around 10 lines long. The first portion is the waiter taking orders, customers placing orders, and then receiving their food. The second part is the two customers interacting while dining at the table. It can be very fun, but expect to dedicate most if not all of the class time toward this. There were some last minute surprises by my co-teacher, so I never got to try this out, but I'd be interested to hear if anyone does use it, or has done similarly in their past classes.
Have fun!

Here is a powerpoint game based on the spin game I made for "Do you want some more" as a review with my special class.  Hope you enjoy it!

Attached is a Memory game my coteacher and I developed for the Hamin's Songpyeon story on P. 124 in Lesson 10. Here is the steps for our lesson.

1) Teacher will read story to students.
2) Teacher will ask questions about the story (vocabulary and content)
3) Teacher will story and students will repeat.
4) Students will memorize the story for 3 mins (or how ever long you think they need)
5) Students read story one more time outloud together.
6) Play memory game.

Hope this helps!!:)

Here's a dialog activity my ex-CT used a year ago, that I'm just getting around to sharing.

It takes a bit of work.

She made sandwiches with different sauces. Some were really hot, some were just disgusting (on purpose), some were peanut butter, honey, and jelly.

She cut them into little squares and distributed them to the groups. They had to blindly taste one and use this dialog:
S1: Would you like some?
S2: Yes, please. (takes a bite and then...) Mmm...This is good (if it actually is) or This is bad (if they don't like it).
S1:Would you like some more?
S2: Yes, please (if they actually do) and No, thank you (if they don't).

Or you could do it one student at time, but found this to be time consuming and one sided.
I hope someone can use this.
"I love him and there's nothing you or I can do about it. He is just awesome!"

Here is a worksheet for this chapter.  It has sections for practicing writing the key words and phrases, making sentences based on pictures, a wordsearch, a crossword, an unscramble the sentences, and a tongue twister.

And it's all on one page.  =)

Dinner Comics:
Have students pair up or get into a group of 4 and choose a comic to act out. Students must use at least one of the key phrases from the lesson. T should set up a mock table in the from of the room for students to share after they are finished. Comics turn out pretty hilarious.

Block Writing: (I believe I stole this from someone else)
Students should write the key sentences anywhere they want on the strip. T pulls a key sentence from a bag. If the students have this key phrase on the edge of their block writing, they can cross it off. They can only cross out sentences that are on the edges of their strip. The first one to have one sentence left is the winner.

Thank you to the original creator of "do you want some more" Thumbs-up-down PPT. I've Edited it a little and put extra slides. Each child can now have his/her own chance at asking and answering a question.  ;D
