I'm reading The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories, my first foray into H.P. Lovecraft.

I had been meaning to check his stuff out for a while

Resurrection by Leo Tolstoy, and it's much shorter than Anna Karenina or War and Peace, and so far quite good.

Lots of good recommendations.  Glad I found this thread.  I'm reading A New History of Korea by Ki-baik Lee.  I bought it at home before coming here.  I am finally close to finishing after picking it up occasionally for a year.  It's pretty slow going, but I do have a clearer pitcure of Korea's ancient history.

A side note: Does anyone know a good place to order Spanish books here in Korea.  I am also rereading "Vivir para contarla" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, but need a new Spanish book soon.

Epic list of books.
While I havn't gone through the whole thread  currently i'm finishing Brave New World , I had previously read 1984.. Then it's a toss up between the Ender Game Series by Orson Scott Card or Dune by Frank Hebert.

Just read The Book Thief and Catcher in the Rye. Now into Russell Brand's My Booky Wook which will be followed by Clapton's Guitar: Watching Wayne Henderson Build the Perfect Instrument.

I've now moved on to "The Templar Legacy" by Steve Berry. It's a Dan Brown style fast-paced historical mystery adventure kind of thing. I like this style for a quick entertaining read. Coming up soon on my list:

The paris Vendetta
Wicked
The Bottom Billion
Beneath a Marble Sky
and thanks to a renewed interest with the start of the TV series, The Song of Ice and Fire series :)
I'd love to reread the Jean M Auel series that starts with Clan of the Cave Bear, as well.

I recently went on an online ordering spree of books so I have all kinds, something from pretty much every genre. I run the Book Swap down here in Mokpo so if anyone ever needs some books; we have tonsfor trade!

An author I very much enjoyed was Elenor Herman. Her books "Sex with the Queen" and "Sex with Kings" were quite fascinating (non-fiction).

The  Catcher in the Rye is one of the most overrated american classics of all time. Holden Caufield, I hate you!!

I am currently reading two books. The Grapes of Wrath and the Prelude to Foundation.

Just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I will second the notion that this is an excellent read.

Currently I'm working on a novel called White Teeth by Zadie Smith. A young British author got a lot of acclaim for this novel as it was her debut. It's a gem of a piece, really and truly.

I am currently reading the first book of the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. I started it in high school but since I got a kindle I have been downloading several books and series that I have either meant to read or never completed because of time (or losing the ol' paperback whenever I moved) haha.

One of the best works of fiction I've read lately was "The World According to Garp".

The movie was only mildly entertaining.  But, I guess they did the best that they could in adapting that book for the screen.

I just finished Howard Schultz's Pour Your Heart Into It (AWESOME and inspirational) and Swiss Family Robinson by Wyss (I re-read it yearly).  I am now starting Napolean's Buttons and re-reading the Harry Potter books (another yearly investment of time, but totally worth it.)   :)
