E-Books!!! Bye online or get them for free. Kindles and other E-readers are relatively inexpensive. I got a Kindle before I left the states and stocked up on e-books (somewhere around 3,000 of them). I have been here for 6ish weeks and already killed 12 books already. I would be be very sad without reading material. So, for me at least e-books and e-readers are a practical solution to obtaining English books in Korea. Ok that is all:)

Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua. It is about the differences in how chinese parents raise their kids verses western parents. Very interesting read so far.
I buy most of my books from whatthebook.com a bookshop in Itaewon. They ship to you for free if you make a purchase over 20,000won.

A Storm of Swords, Book 3 of A Song of Ice and Fire (recently turned into an HBO Series called "A Game of Thrones". Check it out!!)

This comes just after finishing Memoirs of a Geisha, which was really good. Next up: American Gods by Neil Gaiman!

"Lacuna" by Barbara Kingsolver... still. And I have been for the last month

I only read on the weekends when I'm traveling on the bus/train, so its being read piecemeal.

I have to be careful because I check my books out from the library and if I don't finish in a timely way they "expire" and my Nook can't open them.

Read that during winter deskwarming. It's one of a handful of English books in my tiny school's library. Interesting indeed!

There Are No Shortcuts and Teach Like Your Hair's On Fire by Rafe Esquith. Both were excellent!

Also, Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox. Now I need to see the movie :)

I have found it difficult to find english books here, but, I did manage to buy 'The Architecture of happiness' by Alain de Botton, which is awesome;)

I'm working my way through all of Murakami's works. Right now I'm reading Kafka on the Shore.

Is anyone on http://www.goodreads.com/ ? It's my crack these days and it's also convinced me that I need to invest in a kindle.
