Lesson 5:  I made an intro PPT with the words on the first half and without the words on the second half so I can quiz them.^^

STEPS GAME

photocopy/laminate 30 sheets - the sheet will have some steps, on each step will be an image representing a day (Mother's Day, Teacher's Day etc), and underneath this step is the object/gift that will be given in aid of this day. At the top of the page, you can write out a small dialogue, including the key expressions ("Happy ___ Day! This is for you. / What's this? / It's a _______ / Thanks! / You're welcome!).

To decide who will move up the steps, students play Rock Paper Scissors...write the key at the bottom of the sheet:
ROCK = 1 step up
PAPER = 2 steps
SCISSORS = 3 steps
...so as to alternate expressions of day and type of gift.

It's quite an easy game for teacher to be part of, or just walk around the class for 15 mins.

To play the Spongebob game, make sure that each time you chose a letter on the starfish, you click on the tip of the bottom right part of the star.  Otherwise it won't work properly.

I know it's a little late, but I liked this idea and I made some rainbow colored steps with a trophy at the top and holiday/item squares.  I also included a blank template of the steps since I think this game would be useful for other lessons and easy to create. 

I did change the rules a little. They RSP to see who goes first.  The winner starts at red saying the target conversation with their partner.  When they finish they RSP again and the winner goes next, and so on.  When one of the pair wins, they will play the game again only the 2nd time they will start on the opposite side.

Here's a ppt to go over new vocab and key phrases.  With the vocab I have my students listen and repeat the words before I show them the pictures.  Then, I have them try to figure out which word goes with the picture.  My hope is that by making the connection by themselves, they will better remember it.

After the key phrases part, there is a game.  I divided my students into three teams and had each team form a line.  Then, I whispered the word or phrase to the last student in each line.  When they all got the go-ahead from me, they whispered to the next person in line and so on.  The player at the front of the line then goes to the screen and touches the picture that matches the word or phrase.  First team, wins the round.

Hopefully it should be pretty easy to figure out.  My classes loved it!!  If you have any questions feel free to message me.

Memory game: challenge the kids to memorize the pictures in order (and the corresponding expressions, taken straight out of the textbook).

This is a role play activity that can be an alternative to the "Do and Show" activity on page 48.  Have the students choose any holiday covered in the lesson and decorate a card.  On the inside, draw a picture of a gift. The objects learned in Lesson 3 are good to use (ruler, pencil, cookie, etc.), or have them choose anything.  Students should walk around the room and and talk to each other, following the dialogue.  You can have them keep their own cards the whole time, or have them trade cards with each person they talk to so they have to say different things.

Thanks to Buk-gu-Teacher, and awwwyeah for the original game idea and ppt.  I like the game, but giving my students the option of drawing their own blocks would make this game take forever.  So, I added a little review, and provided some "game pieces".  You can cut out the pieces on the last slide, and have your students glue them to the game board.

Hi!!!!

If you have been using the Introductions and Reviews posted in this forum then you are in luck.  I have a Doraemon bomb game (courtesy of Kyle Ludeke) for Lesson 5, Happy Children's Day!  Anyway, I have used some Korean words and used mostly lots of pictures that were posted in the ppts in this forum.  Furthermore, I have also inserted some questions dealing with previous lessons like "Hi, I'm __", "What this?", "It's a ___."...if it is too difficult for your class please edit the questions.  I should warn you that if your computer does not use shock player then the point system attached will not work.  So just skip it and keep track of your points manually or if you have something else to keep track of points then use it.
