Grade 3 Lesson 3 I Like Gimchi (Eiffel Tower and Kobi)
« on: April 22, 2011, 07:20:07 pm »
and now from those wonderful folks that gave you "How Many Tigers?" comes another inspiring lesson on foods that we like and don't like.  I have modified a powerpoint from last year to add in the additional foods that need to be discussed.  I think I'm going to use "Green Eggs and Ham" and lots of fruit in this lesson too.

My students enjoyed playing picture bingo for this lesson. This website is great for upload your photos and generating as many cards as you need!

Here are a few ppt and actives I've made for my class.
Lesson 3 Part 3A
I have typed out the script.
Lesson 3 Part 3B
I suggested to my co-teacher that we make real sandwiches instead of paper ones. It end up being pretty cheap if you can get the kids to put in 1,000 won each for the sandwich and it's a really fun activity.  I had them choose PBJ or Ham and Cheese they wanted to make ham and cheese sandwiches.
Lesson 3 Part 3C
I made a ppt of different foods around the world that I like. The last slide is foods from my state (Louisiana) if you want you should change it to food from your home.

I made a powerpoint and I used a youtube video to help me teach these classes the powerpoint reviews all the foods covered in this chapter plus a few extras. The video is "Do you like Waffles?" which I found the kids loved.

Here's a link to the video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtlaTNI1TaU

It's in mp4 format below so you may need a codec or VLC player or something to play it.

Good Luck.

I made a powerpoint game for this too but the file was huge when I was finished. I don't know why.  So I uploaded it to zshare if you want it. I thought I'd try to save waygook.org some bandwidth.
 Here's the link:
MarioGameWithScore foods3.3.6.rar - 62.37MB
I also decided to try a site called File Dropper
Here's the link.

You might need winrar to extract the ppt you can get that at download.cnet.com

I'm reviewing this topic with my 3rd grade after school class and edited a game i found in the 5th grade forum which i liked and have decided to try out with the 3rd grade.

i made it simple with only 1 phrase but it gets them moving and enjoying the sentence practice rather than sitting still listening and repeating.

I hope it works for others.
