ha! I hate getting naked with strangers, so I haven't done a public bath yet (or perhaps at all), so I don't really have these kinds of stories. Mine is less awkward, but I had just ordered an animal suit on gmarket (the full body ones, you know) and I tried it on right as the doorbell rang. It was another package and I didn't have time to take it off, so I just answered the door with that on and felt completely ridiculous signing off on a package while wearing a full body costume. ><

What I'm wondering is... why did you order a full-body animal costume?

In my first week my co-teacher decided to take me into Seoul. It was great but for the return journey's awkwardness.
Her: So, why did you decide to come to Korea?
Me: Well I needed an adventure and being 29 and living with your parents is pretty sad.
(You guessed it....)
Her: I'm 29 and I live with my parents.
Cue 45 minutes of staring at the same spot on the floor and sighing.

Yeah, in Korea it's common for adult-age people to still live with their parents, unlike in most Western countries. It's a cultural difference.

Walked into the wrong classroom and wrote objectives on the board. When I turned around to say good morning, I was greeted with confused stares.

Haha!  That's class!

My pal's brother used to teach here and he told a kind of similar story about his first day at school.  He wrote his name on the board, turned round and was met with confused stares.  Panicking, he took a football from his bag and brought all the kids outside for a game of football.  Soon after, he was made the PE teacher :D

I did an elementary school lesson for the unit "My father is a pilot".  At the end of class we did a check-up.  All of the students line up and must answer a question before leaving the classroom.  I asked one student "What does your father do?"  His reply: "My father is dead."

While teaching in Japan at an elementary school I went to about once a year (when I wasn't working at my regular middle school job), this fifth grade girl was very interested in my middle school and kept asking questions about it all period. Finally, I asked her if she had a brother or sister at my school. She looked at the teacher for what to say and then said slowly (in Japanese) "yes." I asked her sibling's name. She looked at the teacher again for what to say and I suddenly knew what the story was and there was nothing I could do because it was too late. She said her sister's name and used the present tense., Her sister was one of my favorite students, a model-beautiful 15-year-old who had hanged herself about a week before.
