Jobs & Adjectives in the Future
« Reply #20 on: March 10, 2011, 09:40:35 am »
Hi, this is my lesson pay I have adapted from the awesome Jeollamundo.

It's aimed at all levels of high school grade 1 but i think it will work from middle school upwards.
Please feel free to use it.

I would welcome any comments/suggestions/criticisms.

Here is the link to the Prezi (alternative to powerpoint) file that I will use. http://prezi.com/qar8p5anqici/adjective-jobs/

This looks great, I just did a lesson on goal setting and this would be a great next step. I also like the prezi thing, it is a new goal of mine to make one of those.
Thank you so much for your work.

Attached please find lesson plan, PPT and worksheet used.  Mind, my lessons are usually conducted verbally and written by hand on the board with few interactions with the powerpoint past the activity.

I really like the concept of this lesson and it would do really well in an all-boys high school like mine!

I did this lesson with the girls at my school. It went over really well. They enjoy anything that has some form of media in it.

Like so many others on here, I really liked the idea of this lesson, too.  I also have included a slightly modified version.  I am using it for high level gr. 6 kids so the cow birth had to go.  The skeleton cleaners as well due to it's extreme rottenness.  I replaced them with Mike at a diaper laundromat and window cleaning.  The clips are included and should open from the ppt presentation (.flv, so gomplayer set as window's default for that type of file should work fine).

note: can't upload .flv type files so had to put them into .rar's

Alien life (what they might look like)
ghosts real or not?
Myths and legends from around the world

I'm surprised there isn't one on here.  I guess I adapted these from lower-level boards.  Anyway, these are for my 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade high schoolers.  All are lower level than their counterparts.  Adjust accordingly.  Feedback appreciated since I haven't done the lesson yet.

This contains review for a personality lesson that I posted on that forum.  Adjust appropriately to review your prior lessons.

i have never been so scared in my life watching a video before!  I have goose pimples all over and the hair on my arms is standing on edge!

HOLY MAN!  Impressive!

OH!  I forgot.  I also added this job!

http://www.artifacting.com/blog/2010/09/15/climbing-a-1768-foot-transmission-tower/

They were pretty much mesmerized by the video.  I think I will sub it in for the blood worm video to free up more time.  My students thought it was really funny how they never thought about changing a light bulb/beacon on towers.

I can see why students would be offended, as their parents might hold those jobs, especially at rural schools.
