My first use of Korean powerpoint. The kids liked all of the pictures quite a bit. It should be pretty useful and fun for your class.

I used this power point to help reinforce "How Many Cows?" The first slide gives examples of questions and answers. The second slide allows the students to practice "There is/There are". The final slides require that the students recognize the animal as well as count how many animals are present. Enjoy!

Yes, they're the same lessons - last year's lesson 6, but this year's lesson eight (with the new textbooks.) Not that you haven't figured that out already... ^^

Here's a ppt game I made for this lesson. The slides briefly flash a picture of numerous animals and the students have to quickly count and guess "How many ____?"

I thought that some of you might like this song for your students. It is telling about different animals. Since we're covering animals in this lesson, I thought it might be effective for some. It also ties in well with the last lesson of "I Like Apples" because it uses 'I like' quite frequently. One thing that you could try with this is let the song play a little bit and when the description is given, see if your kids can guess what the animal really is. Tell me what you think or how it worked out for your class. I'm interested in finding out how the kids liked it.

I like to introduce the verb, "to count" with this lesson, and respond to the "How Many . . .?" prompts with, "Let's count . . . ". The Sesame Street segments on counting are favorites, especially the pinball song, and what better way to segue between liking apples and the number of something than this?

I used this song for my K-1-2 class. I wasn't sure if they knew the names of the animals yet so I made a ppt with the animals in the song and some other common ones like cows. The song does work really well as you suggested, if you pause and have the kids guess the next animal. They got a kick outta it ^^

Here is the same song, but with subtitles. Especially in 3rd grades I like the kids to practice reading what they are hearing.

I haven't tried this yet, but plan on it! Great song!

Modified matching game to fit this lesson. When they get a match they say the combination dialogue (e.g. There are 12, big monkeys.) to open the treasure chest. Includes a second round

Here's a battleship game I made, but I changed the theme to finding treasure. The kids draw the items where they want on the board and then play against their partner. One student asks something like, "Do you have three cows?" and the other student either says, "Yes, I do," or "No, I don't," depending on if he hid his treasure there. You can add more rows and columns to make the game longer.

That Typhoon game is great. Thanks for posting it. I just made a change so that the answers are shown on the screen after you click it. I know it helps my kids a lot to see what I'm saying written down as I say it. Thanks again for posting that!
