Here is an essay I made for Lesson 16.  It's a story that consists of verbs that are not written in the past tense, which is the emphasis of this chapter; there are also a couple of mistakes that do not involve verbs, but the trick is to get the students thinking about grammar.  I recommend that Native Teacher read the story out loud, as the students listen and find mistakes, and have the Korean Teacher write the corrections up on the board with the mistaken words crossed off and proper verb/words right next to it.  This actually worked well with all my classes, including the tough ones.
I've also included the Key....Enjoy

I made an Angry Birds game for period 2 using cowboy7's template (wanted to use Daejeon's but couldn't make it work). It's pretty simple because it's only for the second period. Some of the pictures are of me to make it more interesting but I don't mind if you use them too.

Really easy little slap game: make copies of one of the pages and cut into cards. In groups of two or three, have the students put out the cards face up (I'm doing the present tense verbs). Teacher will have other cards (past tense) and read one at a time to the class. Students have to slap the correct present tense form. They collect the cards and whoever has more at the end wins. I'm also thinking about making a story that involves the past tense (something like "I went on vacation and...) and use that as the key words, but I haven't written one yet. You can always change the words on the cards too.

Here is the Pokemon game adapted to What did you do yesterday.
I added a lot of new past tenses words relating to the worksheet in the beginning of this post.

If you haven't got the Pokemon game already, check out the link below for instructions on how to download the fonts that need to go with it:

WORKSHEET

This worksheet is for period 3 or 4. No new expressions or vocab added. Just the material we've covered in this lesson. If you need to take up some extra time, this should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on your kids' levels.

This is a combination review bomb game-style game for both Lesson 16 and Lesson 15 ("Can You Join Us?"), using my improved and reworked Diablo III template.
"You shouldn't ask yourself such worthless questions. Aim higher. Try this: why am I here? Why do I exist, and what is
my purpose in this universe? (Answers: 'Cause you are. 'Cause you do. 'Cause I got a shotgun, and you ain't got one.)"

Here is a very simple vocab and what's missing PPT. It's mostly been patched together from other PPTs so credit must go to the original creators.

Pretty late, but if anyone is still studying this week, here's an Angry Birds game using Daejeon's template for a chapter review.
It's pretty basic- mostly answering questions with picture prompts, independently answering questions, making short dialogues with picture prompts, and some sentence scrambles.

Simple and clear introductory PPT on the simple past. Some Korean provided for explanation--don't hold me to its complete accuracy.

An alternative Storytime which is a  follow up to this post
http://waygook.org/index.php/topic,960.msg184502.html#msg184502

In this story, Cat and Monkey discuss their Winter vacations. Cat even brought back a souvenir for Monkey.

Edit: Uploaded the PPT twice.... no wonder waygook loads so slow! My apologies.

Here is an updated version of Wendel's story powerpoint. My kids like the three levels of the story, and it has the regular story up before the levels.

I liked the ' time to' bomb game that was uploaded for this lesson, but wanted to include some practice questions before the game begins.  Also, I added some new pictures and sound effects that I haven't tried out with a class yet, so it might need some minor alterations.

Story Time - Long or Short? Part 4

I know most of you have already finished the textbook, but we're just now on the story time of the very last unit. Hope it helps somebody out :)
