Here's a simple instructional powerpoint on how to make a commemorative graduation hat with minimal materials. You can allow time after completion for students to sign eachothers' hats using key expressions from lesson 16.

I hope someone finds this useful.  :)

It's the end of the school semester and I've created a fun Angry Birds Review Game to cover chapters 1-16.

One thing to note is that you can not click the mouse to show the answer, only the arrow key will work.  Other than that the works smoothly ~mouse wise.

Next attached is also a writing make a sentence game for period 4.  I just redid a previous post into a different templete.  I've used this templete before and the students go kinda wild.

Enjoy and I hope your students do too!

Yeay!

For this lesson, we practiced some more letter writing. Since they'll be graduating and some of their friends are going to different middle schools, I made them write letters to each other. First a draft copy and then I would edit it for them. Next let them write a good copy on pretty stationary paper and finally they get to give the letter to their classmate on graduation day.

My kids HATED this lesson. It's pretty thin on content and they're like, "WHATEVER ITS THE END OF THE YEAR DUDE". I've uploaded a Laser, Heart, Bomb game I used with them and a Board Game I used, also. They're more or less exactly the same :) Also included is a little worksheet that can take up 10 or 15.

Also, Flying Words/Make A Sentence game. That usually goes over okay.

I am so happy I wasn't involved in this lesson. It doesn't seem very helpful at all, I wish I had taken more videos to put together something for them but I know now what I want to do for this year coming up.

I modified someone's reading game PPT from a previous unit to use as a warm-up for this lesson. It's "very active" reading where the students have to read a word and do an action to practice the target sentences. First I had the students read one word each, and then the entire class tried to read the whole sentence and do all the actions. It went over really well in all of my classes, even though it's the very end of the semester and the students are so antsy to be finished!

I used the yearbook template from "yonag" and created a ppt to explain what a yearbook is and go over the different class award categories. This is the last English lesson of the year and I thought it would be a good idea for them to sign each others' yearbooks instead of doing normal textbook stuff.

I had them nominate people for the class awards and then we did a vote for each category. Then they sat in a circle and rotated their yearbooks so everybody could sign. They enjoyed this and it's something that they can keep and remember. Thanks "yonag" for posting the yearbook idea! :)

They had to end the book with the most boring chapter  ??? It's hard enough keeping 6th graders' attention as it is, AND it's the end of the year. Anyway, if anyone is still working on the chapter, I made a super simple whiteboard game. It doesn't take much time.-probably around 10-15 minutes. It's optimal for lower level students who need practice with writing/spelling.

Here is a christmas tree for making ss's thankful card. You can make it a pop up card if you fold it along the dot line . you  just cut   the black line inside the tree.  If you fold the paper in half , it will be easy to cut.

Lesson times are few at this point, but my coteacher and I got more out of this lesson by explaining the grammar of the question "What middle school are you going to?"  At this point, the textbooks (national textbooks for grades 3-6) have only taught the simple future tense construction (will + verb).

Hello everyone,

A great activity I used as a review for lesson 16 was a category game. The teacher divides up the class into different teams and then each team gets a paper. The teacher assigns 4 categories. Example, Korean names, English names, English speaking countries and brand Names. Then the teacher assigns an alphabet letter. The team is supposed to come up with as many words as possible for each category. Medium level students seem to like this game a lot. I hope you guys enjoy it as a review lesson.

Thanks,
WK
