Protests
« on: November 28, 2009, 08:14:13 pm »
I did this lesson a few weeks ago with my high schoolers. It went pretty well. I briefly explained what a protest is, NIMBY, and asked students why people protest. Then I had students choose an issue to protest, tell me why, then make a protest poster and a protest sign and protest in front of the class.

Here are some of the protest signs my students made.

I probably won't try this one quite yet (not exactly prepared with posters for 800 students, no matter how many in group!)...

But I wanna say thanks Zach for posting all these great ideas you always put up here.  I've used many of your lessons, some revised, some as-is... and you have saved me a lot of stress and time and made class far easier to teach  ;D
