.ppt over .ppx
« on: September 16, 2010, 09:54:53 am »
This is an awesome site that has helped me no end, so many thanks to all who contribute.  I do have one request though, it would be so much more of a help if the powerpoint pres that people so kindly upload could be in the format of .ppt and not .ppx. I know that everyone I've asked have said that their school's only have windows xp at best, so they find they are unable to open the .ppx presentations.
Again thanks to all.

You can also download openoffice.org (free yay!) and open .ppx presentations and save as .ppt for editing purpsoes.

Or when you get ready to save the pp choose to save as powerpoint 97-2003. That should save a lot of unnecessary downloading.

true, but not everyone here who uploads files will save them as '97 documents for formatting purposes and convenience (i.e., fewer clicks and a lot less time uploading since pptx is significantly smaller than ppt).

I used to load all of my files on here in both formats but when you're posting 20 different things in both formats, it gets a little time consuming.  Not to be rude but please think of the work that people have already put into their contributions... if you want it, you may have to do a little leg work.
