OPEN OFFICE 2007 FILES USING OFFICE 2003
« on: September 14, 2011, 12:12:37 pm »
If you use Office 2003, you won't be able to open 2007 files (pptx, docx, etc.) by default. However, by downloading and installing the following pack, you'll be able to open, edit, and save 2007 files using Office 2003.

There should be something similar for 2010 files.

You can also save as using 2007 to the legacy formats. or you can open them in open office (free open source software) or even import them into Google docs then export them to any format.

i hope this helps!

Um, that link shows everything in Korean. Could you possibly explain how I would go about using the information?

I don't know if my laptop has office 2007 or 2010... i just got it before coming here so it should be 2010? Isn't there a way to just change the format when you save it so that you can open it in word 2007 or do I have to download this in order for it to work?

Open office is a good alterative to Microsoft office. First of all itís free. Itís also compatible with MS office so you can save your document in .doc and .docx formats. Therefore you can share files with people who are using these versions, or convenient if you have these versions installed at the computers at work. I have found that on rare occasions the formatting is different on the Open office version than on the MS office version. Therefore you want to check PowerPoints and other important documents before presenting/printing them.

Getting accustomed to Open office might take some time, the formatting of the toolbars are slightly different, but I have found that once you get the hang of it, you can do most things that you can do in MS office.

Itís free so you could always give it a try and if you donít like it you could buy MS office or have it sent from home.

Does anyone know where we can download something that works as a template you can just use next to your Korean Power point? My presentations are becoming dismal because I dont feel like spending hours trying to figure out one animantion?

Also does anyone know a store or site where you can buy a dual microsoft program - so hangeul and English.

Thanks
