Watchin' TV on the internet...
« on: November 24, 2010, 10:46:08 am »
Hey folks
wondered if anyone knows any good websites to watch shows without downloading them. I can't remember any of the ones I used to use and since they've likely been shut down since I used them last, figured I'd ask around. Cheers

You can install hotspot shield to make Hulu work here, but it always seems to slow the internet a considerable amount.

I use sidereel.com to find shows I want to watch, and also tv.blinkx.com has shows and movies.

The program I use (thanks, infogoddess!) for watching hulu and using other US-only sites is AnchorFree's Hotspot Shield.

http://www.anchorfree.com/downloads/hotspot-shield/

Sometimes it makes things a bit sluggish, and I'm sure they're collecting and selling my data or whatever, but it sure is nice to be able to watch TV shows as they are posted on the major networks' sites.

I love Cucira and TV Tuner, they work quite well and have a wide variety of programs. ESPECIALLY TV Tuner.

look for loombo links. they seem to be the most reliable but with a couple of pop-ups.
also if you use firefox get the illimitux extension to bypass the the megavideo time limit. by the time i had stopped using firefox illimtux rarely worked for me though. they may have fixed the problem in updated versions.
now i use chrome with megaskipper extension. it works great but collects browsing data. so it depends on your opinion on privacy.

ch131.com is great- the megavideo links will only let you watch around an hours video time, but all the others, including the external links are safe and usually fast! The site also has the latest movies and progs are updated daily so you can see what the new shows are!

I second the sidereel.com recommendation, casttv.com is pretty decent too.

Use code WAK323 for iherb, up to $10 off your first order. You know you want to.

I like surfthechannel.com, very good selection.
If you're looking to watch more than one episode at a time, isohunt.com is a torrent website that allows you to download entire seasons of shows.
Happy watching!

For sports try firstrowsports.eu.   That atdht.net & channelsurfing.net site were down a few months back and myp2p.eu just recently.

Get TVU player for network TV.  It's great for news.

Try a torrent finder such as btjunkie, isohunt, demonoid and piratebay and discover how much fun free stuff can be.  You'll need a torrent handler such as Azeurus (Vuze) to help organize everything you're downloading.

Myp2p is great for live sports:

If you have an xbox or compatible device, try playon:

http://www.playon.tv/index.php

It can be a bit of work but has tons of free network tv.

Personally, I really like tvduck.com and find the videobb (time limit) and zshare links to be the most reliable.  Sometimes tv-links.eu is useful.
