I posted this on a few groups on FB so many of the EPIK teachers have seen it but:

Korean Washing Machine - Please help translating
« Reply #7 on: March 27, 2011, 04:20:50 pm »
 ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

I just received a new washing machine.  Clearly, have no clue how to use it.  I have very basic washing needs, just want it to fill it up with either lukewarm or lukecold (not a word haha?) water and have it wash.  I assume step 1 is to just my clothes in the washing machine and then like most normal washing machines the water will fill it up and ill toss some detergent in?

Posted pictures, please tell me which buttons to hit and what order?  Thanks sooo much.  Otherwise, going to be another smelly foreigner walking around soon!

Power button?

The far left button is for setting it to run at a later time. The one next to it is for the time setting. The next button is for the water supply. The button to the left of the center button is for the amount of water. The Center button is the start button. This will also be an auto feature too. You may have to press it twice but it should automatically start on some models. To the right of the center button is for selecting the settings or preset function for blankets and what not.

The three buttons on the right are for the washing cycles. The far right is spin cycle, the middle is rinse, and the left one is wash.

This is ideal thank you! I've been terrified of doing any kind of wash other than throwing my clothes in the thing and pressing go. Especially since when I tried to be bold and customise my water temperature from 'cold' to 'hot', it growled at me and refused to co-operate. I don't suppose any of you know why this might be?

Go to eatyourkimchi.com ... this couple makes vlogs of Life in Korea, pretty funny too.

Also, try going to Daiso or some kind of stores and get a laundry mesh bag. The bag will protect your clothes a bit. The washing machines are pretty rough on my clothes ... and with no dryers they come out like cardboards anyway.
