Do you guys do corny elementary school level jokes?
« on: April 06, 2011, 11:41:06 am »
An example of a children's style joke that I told my low level high school students today.

What (in the alphabet) comes after O?    Pee!

Why is six scared of seven?
 Because... seven ate nine.

My students also love this one (include actions)

Why does a gorilla have huge nostrils?   (For my students - nose holes)

Because they have huge fingers.

I used the 'seven ate nine' one so much last year  :)

The ones the kids love most are 'Konglish' though. Had a blast making these up (after a bottle of soju or two)
Q: What's a robot's favourite food?

Q: What number likes the sea?

I had an advanced 6th grader that got this one.  Might be more appropriate for middle or high school.
Three couples went to the restaurant.  The first man looked at his wife and said, "Pass the honey, Honey".
The second man looked at his wife and said, "Pass the sugar, Sugar".
The third man looked at his wife and said, "Pass the tea, Bag".

At every opportunity possible!

My favorite:  Whenever I bring in my USB, kids always shout, 'Teacher USB!! USB!!' and to my delight, I always tell them, 'No kids, I'm from USA, USA!'  and I always get the 'Ahhh teacher!!' response!  It's a hit!
You get what you give :)

For those meat lovers out there:

What food do you get when you mix a cow, a bird, and a mouse?

So-sae-chwi! (소새쥐 / Sausage)

(cue groans)

The kids also love: Where do cows go on dates? - To the moo-vies! Where do smart cows go on dates? - To the moo-seum! etc. etc.

I've been waiting for a group smart enough to get this one: What's brown and sticky? A stick!

A: Knock knock
B: Who's there?
A: Banana.

A: Orange.
B: Orange who?
A: Orange you glad I didn't say "banana?"
