Here is a ppt to  practice the role-play.  Good for low level students to slowly go over the dialog.

Since it's the last ST, I decided to do activities targeted for my high level students, who are always bored because other stuff is too easy. However, I was actually very impressed with the outcome. Low level students at first thought it was hard, but after they completed both handouts, they felt proud of themselves.

Period 1: I only showed the video up to where the 2nd crow gives the crayons to the main crow. I then had them fill in the bubble dialogs. I then asked the students to practice the dialog with their partner and asked for volunteers to come to the front of the class. They absolutely loved doing this. I then asked the students to think about what would happen next in the story; the higher level students were the ones to give their guesses.

Period 2: I showed the rest of the video. I then handed out the fill in the blanks. I read the story and they filled in the blanks. I went over the answers. We practiced reading the story and then asked for volunteers to read, this is what the higher level students enjoyed the most.

I didn't much like the bastardized version of the Aesop's fable in the textbook, so I'm using this (slightly better) version as the basis for the role play.

The language is a little difficult but the story is clear from the images. I teach the textbook version quickly, then move onto the Youtube version. The ppt materials relate to that:

- six cards of out-of-order stills from the clip. I get the students in groups to guess the story and try to put the cards in order.  Then some students say their ideas to the class, using the larger pictures on the whiteboard.
- watch the animation and check answers.
- teach the new vocabulary.
- make a role play.

I took Maureen's powerpoint and added some more animations to it. Thanks Maureen!

I also am posting some headbands and props they can cut out, colour, and use in their presentation. I also renamed the crows Crow 1, 2 and 3.

Also it took me a little while to figure out why a lemon was flying through the air. It is a coconut!

There are two traditional stories of the crow and the peacock I chose this one and made a powerpoint as I preferred it and don't think the kids need to focus any more on appearance. It is just the story, a basic activity (I did it in pairs) and design your own crow. I used the colour brown to demo the activity and put the best crows up on the board when they were done, they drew their own birds but you could do a template.

We modified the story slightly (script attached) and I made a simple, animated practice PPT.
