New thread so I attached a lesson (that I slightly modified) from someone else who created it. Sorry, but I cannot remember who made it. But, excellent PPT. After the lesson, I will have the students play a guess who game (attached). It was created by the people at eatyourkimchi.com. My students really enjoyed it last year.

This is my lesson for an open class i did recently. Also for the 'Looks Cute' section.
I took some images from the eat your kimchi game, mentioned above and modified another 'guess who' game i found on here. The rest is mine. It's a hybrid of ideas so i thought i should repost.
I've attached the worksheets also. For the 'activity: 1' game; I had the kids in groups of 4 and put the script outside the classroom. In turn, they had to go out and memorize one section each and come back to the class. When they had all returned, I gave them the handout to complete. first team to complete the handout win. I also had some music on for each activity.
If anyone uses it, please let me know what you think and/or any changes you made.
Enjoy

Here's my lesson for page 47, 'That's Too Bad.'

The ppt should be fairly self-explanatory. My students' level is pretty low, so I largely focus on drilling vocabulary and phrases during this class. During the 'What should you say?' section, I gave the students further situations such as 'my grandmother died' or 'I have a new girlfriend', and asked them for an appropriate response.

So far I've only taught the lesson once, but the students seemed to enjoy it (as much as they enjoy any textbook lesson, anyway).

Let me know if you have any questions!

My ppt for the That's too bad section with a Simpsons theme. This was for my first grade intermediate class so it's straight forward enough. I took ideas from others and added my own so I'm posting.
Hope you enjoy it!

Family

I began the lesson with the song "we are family" (the loved it!).  We then went through each slide on the ppt and discussed the role of each family member, I took it a step further by also looking at our appearance in comparison with our parents and we looked at a few different types of families and had a brief discussion on each.
To end the students had to draw their family tree ^^

Here is an Appearence Bomb Game.

First show students the Describing People Powerpoint.

Then play the Bomb Game. Students should say 3 things about what the people in the Powerpoint look like.

Here's the ppt for page 38.

At the end, I tried to get them to practice the full dialog and also get them to make up new things and change the underlined parts.

A lot of material came from other posters; I may have changed some things to suit my students.

I had to do a lesson teaching appearance to my first graders.
We went over the vocab with powerpoint for most of the class (poor things) then I had them draw a person and write five descriptive sentences about it.
I modified jumpingjustyna's powerpoint (thanks!) and kept the guess who game in, although I didn't use it. (Always good to have a backup.)
I simplified the powerpoint a little for my B classes, but this is basically the same thing twice.
I also edited/finished somebody's appearance bomb game for my B classes. The kids had a lot of fun with this lesson.

RE: That's too bad

"A visit to the doctor"
In short, students will go to the doctor, describe their ailment, get a prescription, and get some advice. Doctors will listen to ailments, ask a few questions and then prescribe medicine and give some advice.

For each ailment, the patients will visit two doctors and get some advice and a prescription. There is a fair amount of vocabulary for this exercise so it might be wise to have the students prep for class with some worksheets or exercises. If you are in an ESL setting it might also be a good idea to have the main terms translated. Also, the ailment and treatment cards are in MS Word format so you can edit them to whatever sickness you want.
