If you are new to the site, you will not be able to send private messages to other members until you have a 5 post count. This measure is to alleviate spambots and users from harassing others easily. It does not affect recruiters. We have received numerous complaints about people registering solely for the purpose of harassing others through PM. The 5 post requirement here gives moderators a reasonable chance to notice something before the PM system is used.
