Syllable stress and sentence intonation lesson
« on: September 08, 2017, 04:03:01 PM »
Hello all,

I have created a syllable stress and sentence intonation lesson and worksheets.

Personally, before I taught this lesson, I taught syllables and haikus. I am sure that helped.

Even though I made everything, I did not teach the syllable stress section of this lesson, only the sentence intonation part.

My 2nd years really liked it, and most of my 1st years enjoyed it. My co-teachers helped explain concepts as needed.

For the part "Who stole my money?", I went over how you can stress each word and then quizzed them so it sounded like this:

Tr: SHE stole my money.
St: SHE stole my money.
Tr: What word was stressed?
St: SHE
Tr: Who stole your money?
St: SHE
Tr: (Ok, I will ask you a Q, and you answer. "She stole my money" is the answer) Ah ok, you mean to say HE stole your money??
St: No she!
Tr: ....
St: SHE stole my money.
Tr: Ah.. Teacher stole your money??
St: No, SHE stole my money.

and so on. They really enjoyed this.

Let me know how it goes!
