I really appreciate you posting up the intor PPTs.  They are so helpful for students, even if they don't know what the words mean or they are new to them it really helps with exposing it the to them before the lesson.  Throughout the lesson they see the words or familiar pictures and make associations to it, so kids actually learn.

Thanks again.

Amy~  Your lesson 4 Hidden picture game is AWESOME!  Thanks so much!  My students absolutely loved it.  It also gets them to say the target language a bunch bc they are constantly guessing at what the picture is. (Guess that's the point lol) Thanks so much!

Unit 4: "I Like Kimchi"

This is a supplemental handout which can be used later in the unit. I would suggest using this in the third or fourth lesson in so as not to stress the students out too much.

The attached handout is meant to be used in tandem with a video on YouTube called; "Unit 4: Do You Like Kimchi?" [http://youtu.be/8Mjw1pqGGbg]. First give the students each one handout. Inform them that they will be watching a video where students will be asking a foreigner five questions about what food they like. The students will have to listen carefully and circle the corresponding food item and check the (Yes) or (No) box.

Section 2: Friend Survey can be done after as a combination speaking/TPR exercise. This activity will require the students to walk around the class asking their friends about what food they like. I like to encourage the students to ask the teacher as well (this will allow you to gauge their level and understanding of this material).

I have used this handout in a number of classes and it has gone well. Just be clear in your explanation. Use some Korean in needed.

Of course, all of my handouts have an embedded QR code which has a hidden message. You will require a smart phone with an app capable of reading QR codes.

Guessing game for motivation and bingo cards. For bingo, students should ask "What do you like?"  I use the bingo caller on Barry Fun English using my custom list (I pay for membership) so you'd have to figure out a new system of choosing. When one is chosen, students should say "I like _____" and put their marker on it.

I like to include some kind of arts and crafts in each lesson. The will make dice.

I printed them and wrote words myself. In the blank dice, I wrote "Do you like _____" "I like _____" "I don't like _______" etc.

In the dice with the pictures, I wrote the vocabulary words in dotted lines so they can trace it and write it themselves. My students are very low level and can't read or write yet. I'm doing phonics with them, but this is just extra practice and to get them familiar with English.

They will assemble the die (I'm going to cut them all beforehand because that takes a lot of time) with my assistance. They should roll the die and make a sentence with the two.
