Went through the 1st 2 exercises on page 146.

Then I had the kids play the old fortune telling game MASH(O), which some of you might remember playing back in middle school during the long, boring bus rides to school field-trips.  I included the worksheet for it and the PowerPoint has a pretty lengthy explanation, just in case you need a refresher (or in case this is a game that was specific to my little corner of the world, unbeknownst to me).

If you have any questions about how the game is played, feel free to message me.

I had each class fill out a survey on what they want to be so they can see the results for their class and then for their grade. Then we went over the target language before playing a sentence writing chart game.

This is my intro powerpoint for L9.  There are about 15 gif files embedded in it, so please check that your classroom computer can handle them before class starts! (speaking from experience...).  Also, I always include a little bit of grammar in my lessons, so please feel free to omit those parts of the powerpoint if you're strictly the "conversation teacher" at your school..

I'm only sticking to the bare bones of this lesson because exams are fast approaching, but  after my classes get through the dialogue and a short writing exercise ("In the future, I want to..."), I have a Bucket List PPT that I want to do with them. It focuses heavily on the "I want to" phrase and it still manages to be a little interesting for them. :)  I didn't make this PPT and there used to be a worksheet to go along with it - so, if you can find it elsewhere on this site, go for it!

I used this after teaching the Listen and Talk part of the book (What do you want to be?).  I used the ppt to elicit each job, wrote them on the board and played the game.  A lot of job ppts I found were very limited and stereotypical (doctor: picture of a male doctor, nurse: picture of a female nurse, mostly caucasion, little diversty) so I tried to use a variety of pictures.

For the first lesson I focused on different adjectives as well as using articles properly. We played a telepathy game after where I gave a problem "I'm sick." and students had to write a sentence using "why don't you___" and the pictures. I then revealed which pictures/statement had the most points.

For the second lesson we did two truths and one lie for "I want to____." If there was time we did human bingo.

There's one slide with a picture of me, obviously delete that (unless you want to make fun of me which is chill too.) But here's my attempt at a lesson
