Again, I've taken JHarris' lesson and split it into two parts. I've changed a few basic things, but it largely remains his (brilliant) work.
Part A: I tagged a Scattegories game at the end--which my kids loved. I used some Scrabble tiles to pick letters. I split the class into four teams and had them elect a best writer to write their teams answers. Once time was up, I had them yell out their answers for each category. Unique answers got 2 points, answers that occurred more than once got one point. The writers for each team kept track of that.
Part B: I added a bit more of an explanation of the word carnivore, and some pictures after that--the basic idea being that the kids have to tell me if that animal is a carnivore, herbivore or omnivore. I threw in a hot seat activity downloaded from another user here, with some of our themed "amazing animals" peppered into it. So far it's gone over pretty well.
