Hey all,

An introduction ppt with a hidden picture game at the end. Also, a pass the ball game and a 'big / small' white board game.

Happy teaching

Here is an intro powerpoint to the phrases with a guessing game. Also there are links to 3 different videos in the comments section of the first page.

I review some words ending in /all/; example:  fall, call, mall.

I also show a short video for short i words; example: sit, fix, etc.

I introduce the idea of adjectives; example:  sweet, tall, cute, sweet etc.

Then, using the key words in the book, introduce opposites.

Then a review of key words and expressions with the game Telepathy.

Cheers!
Life is good!

Team Rocket Card Game (It's big / it's small etc)
  • Every student gets 4 Pokemon cards - Can play as a class or in groups
  • They find someone to play with and play a game of RPS
  • The winner says a sentence (Ex. "It's big") and both students put 1 card down, face down on the table
  • On the count of 3, students turn over their cards
  • The student with the bigger Pokemon wins and steals the losing Pokemon.
  • students find new partners and play again
  • The winner is the player with the most Pokemon

Cards were taken from a grade 6 lesson that was posted on waygook. I corrected the Pokemon typing(adding Dark, Fairy and Steel cards) and added 3 pages more from generations 2-7.
