Lesson 8 I like apples introductory ppt with the key words and phrases, using pictures from the textbook. Some Korean translation, double check them, I had my co go over them but we were both in a rush and might have missed something. You can never be too sure.

The last few slides are similar to the Listen and Play game, you could use them to review before or modify them to work for you some other way.
Have fun.

4 corners elimination game.

Get each corner to say "Do you like [food their corner chose]?" before seeing who is bombed away.

Thanks to whoever made the template. I've used it several different times, and it always is a hit.

here is a multi game a took from someone else, and totally didn't modify much. blatant thievery.

So I blatantly stole JMW's intro and ryguyi87's four corners game and mixed a few slides from the former in before the game.

I also fixed a few of the bombs that didn't have sound effects on the four corners game.

Completely stolen - but saves you the effort of doing it yourself if you want a short recap before the game.

I'll be using this as the intro for part 2.

Here is a Name Bingo board for the reading and writing period. Simple, but it works.

Each student should go around the room asking people "Do you like....?" When a student says "Yes, I do!" they should write that students name under the food. The winner is the student who gets the right BINGO first. You can play line bingo or whole sheet bingo depending on your student's levels.

The boards are two per sheet.

Also, they love this video.

and the Do you like broccoli Ice Cream? song

This can be played in pairs or as a class. I’ve done it as a class activity and it worked well.
Each student has their own paper (slide 2).
One student is chosen to stand up and be asked a question the first question being “Do you like apples?” Before that student can answer, the rest of the students must guess how he/she will answer. If they think he/she will answer “Yes, I do. I like apples.” They will put a (o) in the box with the parenthesis. If they think he/she will answer “No, I don’t. I don’t like apples.” They will put an (x) in the parenthesis.
Together the class asks the student the question. His/her answer is recorded as an (o) or (x).
If the student has guessed correctly and the marks in the parenthesis match, they will score 1 point. If it doesn’t match no point.

And a pass the ball.

Cards for various activities.

I did seat changing game.

Put flashcards provided by textbook on the board. Practiced the dialogue:
"I like apples"
"Me, too. I like apples"

Have students sit in a circle with their chairs. Give two or three cards to each student. To demonstrate, I go first. I stand in the middle and say "I like apples". Whoever has the apple card must stand up and say "Me, too. I like apples" and then change seats. Whoever doesn't have a seat says the next sentence. Fun activity!

I taught this to my Daycare kids and I've used it in a few camps as an IceBreaker.
But considering the food based topic I thought this chapter was perfect. So I taught my grade threes and they LOVE IT.
Go through the fruit names first, then the actions, they pick up the extra vocab really quick. Then once they've got an idea of the moves show them the video (I tried a few other video instructions but my kids love this one the best), by the end of the video they've got it down pat and are yelling "TEACHER, PLAY ONE MORE TIME!"

Here is a combination intro, practice, and telepathy game PPT that works well for the first day of the lesson.

To play the telepathy game, all the students stand and ask "Do you like _____?" Then they answer, saying Yes I do (and make an "O" gesture) or No I don't (and make an "X"). Reveal the answer, the students that don't match sit down. Last student (or students) standing is the winner.

Period 4 Show Time.
Simple ppt nothing fancy just like the previous showtimes I've posted.
Goes through the story, images taken from the book.
First is a walk through of the dialogue.
Second is fill in the blank.
Third is super fill in the blank.
Final slide is a full dialogue for act it out.

use and modify as you will.

@jls9274 the reading game is pretty simple. The kids either play individually or in groups and they take turns reading one of the words on the slide. The teacher clicks on the word and it disappears to reveal the number of points they get. (for this one it looks like 0, +1 or +3).

The first day, we watched the "Do you like broccoli ice cream" video:

Then I made 2 PPT for the  "Do you like..." song (I cut down and changed teacherteacherteacher's long version a little bit) and used it for a warm up before the lessons the following days. We just sang the song together as a class. My kids really liked it. You may want to watch/listen through it before that way you can get the timing down for switching the slides

I also attached a Spongebob Bomb Game (template is kyle's) for review. My kids are very low level so it's a pretty simple one. It includes the silly foods from the 2 "Do you like..." PPT I posted so double check it if you plan on using it or change it to other foods.

Got to the showtime out of order so I already have a script for it.  I skipped scene four since it doesn't have any dialogue.

More stealing- I modified the BINGO jc in gimhae posted and used it as Battleships. I thought I would upload that version, in case anyone wanted to use it.

I did this for 2nd period speaking practice and had the students ask "Do you like [X - food from the board]?" and their partner responds "Yes, I like [X]" (green space) or "No, I don't like [X]" (white space).

With third graders, you really have to simplify the rules and show them. They are so familiar with BINGO that it took me a couple of classes and a lot of hand motions and modelling with my co-teacher to get them to understand the goal - "you are trying to find your partner's BINGO". Make sure to make it clear that they hide their paper from their partner too.
