Grade 4 - Lesson 3 - You Look Great - Cameron M. Wood
« on: April 07, 2011, 12:39:02 PM »
Starting this lesson very soon. This lesson teaches colors, and shapes, and some things that weren't in the previous curriculum.

Here are some things I have about color and shape.

Here is a bomb game that I used last year for a different lesson.

It needs some editing to match perfectly with this lesson, but I'll post it anyway.

Sure seems like not many other people have this book. Very disappointing.

Can I ask one of the mods to link this to the grade 4 index for me.

Thanks.

A bomb game for period 1 using the sentence structure in the dialog.

Hope someone else has something to add!

Some games using colours, shapes and clothing that I altered to fit this lesson.

The sentence unscramble uses sentences from the book, and a few question/answers too.

Here's a brief and cheesy ppt to practice some of the expressions from the first lesson of the unit.

This is a PPT version of the Try It game for the fourth lesson. I' put a timer on each slide so, when it's their turn, a team has 40 seconds to write the word correctly. If it's wrong the chance goes to another team.

I put this up on the screen and I pick individual students and time them. They first write their name on the board and then I use a stop watch to see how fast they can name off the colors. They call out the color of the shaded region and not the written word. Usually I change directions so the students can't just memorize the order. The fastest girl and boy I usually give candy. You can joke with them and say that this some kind of personality or intellect test and if they scored poorly on it they are crazy or something.

Here is a great song...it would be better if it was down-loadable, encodable or just on youtube (can anyone make that happen)....click the pencil to get the lyrics...

I can sing a Rainbow: http://kr.infant.kids.yahoo.com/infantzone/index_pop.html?service=song&mode=popup_viewer&contents_list=2004

Here is a ppt you can use that reviews the vocabulary on page 38. We used this for Lesson 3, period 4.

Here is another ppt we used for lesson 4. This one we used to practice spelling and then we also used it as a Golden Bell game.

I don't know if this will help anyone...

I got frustrated trying to make a spinner board from scratch in Word or Powerpoint, so I made one by hand.

I'll be using this spinner game to practice the expressions:

   Is this your ______?
No, it's not.  My ____ is color.

   Is this your ______?
No, it's not.  My _____ is a shape.

And here's a file with pictures and words, in case someone actually knows how to and wants to make a spinner game file for this lesson ^^
