My students are pretty advanced for the most part and I'm in charge of the "Fun with Writing" parts of the lesson (pgs.145-135). Here is the .ppt I will use for that Lesson. It includes bits and pieces from other .ppts here on Waygook, so a big thanks to all of them.

I made a quick list of all the different actions that happen on these pages. Many students seem to struggle with being able to come up with the vocabulary to describe the pictures, so I will have them tape it in their notebooks. (I will hand it out after the students have first tried to describe 5 actions on their own in the .ppt)

****EDIT I will be removing all of my materials as waygook.org wants to now charge you for something they did not create. If you would like a COPY FOR FREE, please inbox me and I would be more than happy to send you the materials. I would recommend all other users with  uploaded materials to do the same.

Hi all! I haven't taught this lesson yet, so I will modify this if I think there needs to be changes.

The focus of this chapter is: Future Dreams and Plans for Jobs, and also Advice.

I teach the Listening and Speaking parts of each chapter over two weeks. This week I will cover Pages 118-120, and focus on future dreams. Next week I will finish Listening and Speaking and focus on advice.

Attached is my ppt. materials.

1. Write key phrases re: future dreams on board. Brainstorm jobs they want.
2. Quick hidden pictures warm up. These are taken from the dialogue on page 122.
3. Textbook page 120
4. Find Someone Who Game -- students must ask x number of students what job they want using the dialogue. Ask students to share answers after.

This should easily take up 45 minutes. If you don't teach the textbook and need another activity," A Guess Who" game could work. One student takes a piece of paper with the name of a job and clues. Read clues and get students to guess using the dialogue in the textbook. I attached a template, but there's no content as I will not have time to use this game.

**EDIT ~ The first "Find Someone Who" had too many choices, and left the students confused. I attached my new hand out, with less jobs/choices. I also only had 10 minutes at the end of class to explain and do the activity. You can modify this activity as you see fit.

I took aross05's idea and .ppt and made a pretty simple relay race for the students to play at the end of the lesson. I named it "In It To Win It", though the game has nothing to do with the actual tv show.

Thanks goes to aross05 for the original materials that I modified for the game.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Okay!  Three classes on this one lesson.

I have my intro ppt and then we played pictionary with different jobs.  The team couldn't get a point unless they said "I hope to be a (job)."

This class I reviewed what a business card was.  I made one on the board and had the ss give me examples of what they would find on a business card (wrote them on the board).  I then gave them a ws where they had to write "I hope to be a..." and "I plan to..."  They then would draw out their business card at the bottom.

Lastly, I did a presentation on dirty jobs.  I had the ss give me examples of what a good/bad job was, what makes a job good/bad, then we watched dirty job video clips and answered questions based on the videos.

I made a review game for the lesson.  Thank you everyone for what you posted  before.  In the game there are some questions about the lyrics of Somewhere over the rainbow, which is the song for the lesson.  If you don't want to use the song then change some of the questions in the angry bird game.

I came across this Jobs Hot Seat game on waygook.  I figured I would re-post it here.

These are my lesson PPTs and a Heungbu Nolbu Bomb Game using someone else's template (similar to the mystery box game where people can decide to keep the box or sabotage someone else by giving the box to them).

Over two weeks, I cover the listen and speak pages in the textbook. The first week, I do listening exercises along with a short activity. The second week, I do the Speak section and the Real-Life Scene and I usually have time for a longer activity. Both weeks are included in one PPT. I have attached the PPT and the worksheets I used. Thank you to the previous posters for their material.

The students get into pairs and quiz each other using the worksheet, they then decide what job the other student should have. I also get the students to decide on their dream job and design a business card based on that job. If there's time at the end, we can play Pictionary with types of jobs.

Well this is the first time in a really long time I made a powerpoint from scratch.  I will probably use it either the second or third time on this lesson.  It will be a bit difficult for my students who are rather low level, but I think that if you never study anything difficult you are never really going to ever learn a language.  The material is from outside of the book.  Basically I am trying to teach them new job vocabulary as well as ones they already know.  We are going to play a Go Fish game from Bogglesworld ESL.  Here are the websites: http://bogglesworldesl.com/jobcards.htm and http://bogglesworldesl.com/scientist_cards.htm

I picked and chose which cards I wanted to use.  Using them all would be much too much.  I hope it helps someone.

Here is my lesson for you should - it starts with a review of the previous lesson .

The final slide is used for a 'baskins robbins' style game that my students love and I always use if I have 10 minutes spare. - All students stand up. They can read 1,2 or 3 words. Whoever reads the final word is out and must sit down.
