A PPT (thanks Jharris for the template), board game, and Kakao production activity. All cobbled together.

Hey Epistemology,
Any chance you could get your something up by the end of today?
I have to have something done by tomorrow and I have no idea where to start.
I did something so similar for the second grade with a similar topic and it was like pulling teeth.  Soooo not prepared to have the same thing happen in 3rd grade.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think I'll be able to finish it by the end of the day. Though my plan is relatively simple.

Review the previous lesson
introduce the phrase in listen and Speak 1 (hard to make extra examples with that though)
introduce the phrase in listen and speak 2 and cover some examples of it
Play this game that uses the phrase "Do you remember...?", by Davjs

For part 2, I'll cover bring together, and use the materials Tak posted for the lets communicate section by having students pretend that they are talking to old friends on Kakao talk.

I'll be glad to see the back of this awful chapter. This book needs to be burned.

Thank you so much for the ideas.
Yeah, totally agree with you.  It's the worst.

I can't download the file by Davjs, but I have a feeling it might be this attached file. I changed some of the pictures last year and changed the questions according to my students' English level. I had students use a half sheet of paper and write down the answers and went over them at the end of class.

So I was told that the midterms will cover lesson 6 and 7, but I taught lesson 6 last semester. That means I have to stretch out lesson 7 two more weeks. This is for week 4 for lesson 7...haha.

I used the memory game today and it went over really well with my classes! Even kids who were usually asleep were active and enjoyed it. I found that maybe a few questions could be a little harder, but overall the memory game was great!

I also made a hook for the class with this song called "Long Time No See" by the popular group iKon. I made a variant of the card game "Spoons", but instead of playing with cards they grabbed the spoons from the center of their table when they heard the English phrase "Long Time No See" in the song. Kids loved it and the coteachers seemed to approve too. The video has subtitles which kids look for, so I cover them up somehow after 2 spoon grabs to raise the difficulty and make it listening focused.

The video is attached. Let me know if you have questions!

This is just a really dry listening activity that works well if you use it the week before midterms. My kids are usually pretty rowdy if I do an activity the week before midterms or finals. The kids want to learn something they think will be on the test, so this will keep most of the kids quiet and focused the week before tests. Just tell your co-teacher to tell the kids that there is something from the worksheet on the test, and you'll have a relaxing 20 minutes of class time used.

Click on, "바다쓰기" in the program, and then click on the red button that says, "심화." That will give you the answers for students to write down. I usually play each audio 4-5 times.

I have a couple of low-level Middle School 3rd grade classes. Here's a quick, doable worksheet that simplifies one way to use "used to." Using this worksheet as a class discussion starter, I got some interesting stories about my students' mischievous childhoods.  ;D
